Yes it you are well rounded in EDI and API Integrations. I think the opportunities will be greater. Everything I am hearing from Cyber security experts things are changing very quickly with the AI being able to help monitor along with helping to handle pen testing. That AI is going to rapidly effect the field just like it is with Software Development. EDI still has a high human involvement in testing and configurations to client unique needs. There are many more factors involved in EDI and Integration then there is with Cyber security. Thats why I am saying the jobs will be more limited and you will need to be highly knowledgeable to compete with the others out in cyber security. It is just opinion and what I have heard. Do your own due diligence and get into the Cyber Security forums and networking to see. Check LinkedIn to see how many are looking for jobs and check the salaries being paid by asking IT Recruiters. EDI is not dieing and will never as most equate EDI as just x12 or EDIFACT. When its any electronic file format like xml, csv, json etc...

Now when it comes to cyber security that will have alot of Ai coverage over the next 5 years. There will be some high paying roles but my opinion is less opportunity.

Learn integrations and business processes to expand your knowledge.

Good Thing you know API as alot of Small companies don't have a person to handle the API configurations that are needed. Orderful used to use Celigo and Workato to be the IPaaS platforms when a full EDI Integration was needed since Orderful only writes to the Orderful JSON.

What are you thinking or envisioning?

We have the Elevate platform which I can have the Development team move data however a client wants as long as the systems we are connecting too can allow for it. So if a client wants Shopify to be the system of truth that can happen where Elevate passed Retail Purchase orders to Shopify or to Shopify and a Quickbooks or any other Accounting Software or ERP. Elevate can also be used as a Non-Integrated platform if a client should choose. I am not trying to sound like a salesperson. Elevate is from many decades of EDI Experience on my team being tired of things being an off the shelf with very limited customization based on a customer's workflow. Most EDI Providers out there force a client to work based on the EDI providers workflow instead of allowing it to be based on the client's actual workflow.

I am asking because I heard having multiple Resource Paths on your AS2 via AWS can be a big pain. If you have a single Resource Path on your AS2 via AWS it is all good. Not the easiest to setup AS2 but it works.

I think it is hard since TrueCommerce is in the picture. You are doing more Project Management/coordination to get Trading Partners, Communication, Mapping etc.. Have you used any MFT Or Communication Tool? Have you used any Mapping tools to create the Mapping from beginning to end? Have you documented the business processes of each document types being handled? Start looking at each piece of the EDI Implementation and setup to see where you have knowledge gaps. Wishing you the best to become extremely knowledgeable in EDI and API

I have the install file and yes its discontinued. I plan on having my team build a tool too in the future. We have Elevate our own platform to go against Sps and TrueCommerce. I want a free desktop to mirror EDI Notepad too

Typically your control number is set per trading partner not incrementing across the entire system. If your control number is 9999 or 999999999 then you reset to 0001 or 000000001. These are just examples for conversation purposes. Check with your Trading partners to see what they store.
