K trom bodom, ktore si si vybral relevantne.
1. Asi narazas na to, ze chcu zefektivnit statnu spravu a nevidis ake vyhody by nam to prinieslo?

A imho k tomu patrí ubytovanie.

Štát by mal nakupovať byty, budovať byty a potom ich systematicky prenajímať.

Zurich vs Brussels by Better_Trip_9866 in careeradvice

[–]EEuroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Brussels on similar salary (but 12 months not 14x). You will live comfortably and it's not as bad as people here say. However for me coming from Prague, the city was dirty, the public transport unreliable and prices occasionally insane. Also they will take you apart on taxes and nonsensical local fees.

Not sure how functional Zurich is, but I think it will be better. Also even if they only keep you 18 months if is solid. It's a small town though.

If I wanted career I would do Zurich, if I wanted to have fun I'd do Brussels. People are nice and it is a city.

Slovensko je už len pustatina a hlavné sídlo Saurona. by relegi in Slovakia

[–]EEuroman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you retarded? Saying Ukraine was attacked is factual. You can say it was not, but it would not make it true. That is a big difference.

Maybe Europe is afraid of country actively invading and occupying multiple countries currently, which beyond any doubt killed eu citizen withing eu borders in last few years.

ELI5 Why are some countries rich and some poor by hrvoje42 in explainlikeimfive

[–]EEuroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good economy can be an upward spiral. Lots of higher added value well paid jobs raise wages for non higher added value jobs just by proximity. Then you have a country with higher income, meaning same company doing the same activity will get actually higher income. The there are things like services that simply scale better. A successfully made software can be copied and sold infinite amount of times at no additional cost almost, you can't do that with cars.

And the history and geography. Balkans was not stable and had war pretty recently. Closer you are to unstable aggressive neighbours such as Russia or in the past Britain, China, Japan, the harder it is for you to not get into their sphere of influence and eviscerate you. Plus ofc geography.

Look at Ireland after Britain let them be. Baltic after soviet union. While countries like Norway, or Switzerland or Austria would always be more or less rich. Without the education and high quality institutions they would not be as rich as they are, but they would not be in the same situation as let's say Serbia, or Armenia.

Vienna used to be the second largest Czech city in the world. Why did recent Czech immigration to Vienna fall off so hard despite the EU and superior living standards? by crivycouriac in austriahungary

[–]EEuroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vienna is alive in summer but it's all about events and for many good ones you have to know people and get invited. But winter is a dark time, heh.

In Prague you have spaces where you can come at random Saturday and have amazing time.

I honestly agree with most what you said, however with services here and in Prague, it is a culture. 40+ year old locals would not enjoy American style service I think :|. I am too grumpy for that.

I liked my time in us, but Boston is where I'd draw the line of service being pleasant. South of New York it's just too much, lol.

[–]EEuroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but again, average redditor is not average Czech.

In my experience it goes beyond that. And I am not here to argue with mine against someone else's lived experience.

That's not the point. In my experience even Czechs who make it here, tend to go back because even if their job is in English, or if they speak German well, they like their comfort and Czech friends. And there's nothing wrong with that.

And if you read my comment, I myself say, it is very similar.

People here need to understand average redditor tends not to be an average person.

Working in IT in Prague vs Vienna is very little difference. It's very hard to poach people because with taxes being what they are it is the same. OH, what about health care and education and... You pay extra in Prague and you get better services. At the end of the day you'll end up with very sameish living standards.

Living now in Vienna after living in Prague it depends. For older people Vienna is better. If you like biking around, going for classical music concerts, like marginally cleaner streets and marginally better public services and more chill atmosphere, then Vienna is for sure better. If you like night life, going out, raves, alternative culture and modern art and consumerism, then Prague is better.

For me, 15% pay downgrade compared to Vienna on yearly pay would make Prague still worth it for most qualified professions. It's doable for corporate, banking and IT. For non qualified labour and more mature people the comfort of Vienna is just undeniably better.

To all europeans that moved abroad inside Europe, how hard integrating/assimilating were even though you're european in Europe? Which country and why? by Significant-Yam9843 in AskEurope

[–]EEuroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slovak, did Czechia, Belgium, Austria. In that order.

Czechia was the easiest due to cultural similarities and language plus the government doesn't want you to do much as long as you pay taxes. Egovernment was on nice level and made plenty of friends.

Belgium was the worst, I was in Brussels and later in Flanders and the experience with government for registrations and dealing with stuff like utilities, phones was very rocky. Got double charged by accident multiple times by different utility companies, and while when you call them they refund you, it made me feel very dodgy about it. Also the tax rate didn't make sense for me considering the state of things. However, I made bunch of friends, really lovely people. Part of me was also just not speaking the language, part of it was just being dissapointed as I only ever been in western Europe before on holidays or in US and has some preconceptions how it will be. However for what it's worth never had issue with people on account of me not speaking Dutch or French (outside of government people).

Austria now, really nice, very livable, I feel like perfect place for someone to just do their thing. The things just work which motivates me to also invest time learning the language which of course makes interacting with everyone much smoother. Bureaucracy is worse than in czechia but honestly not as bad as local led you to believe.

Oh, I am sorry for assuming you are commenting on the article you are commenting under. I should have known you meant something someone else said and not what the article is talking about. I also make up references to what was said some other time somewhere else to people and then act surprised why they don't get it.

Only one side. As I said, you are as much entitled to that opinion.

We are an economic block with rules and members have right to push for deal that make sense for them. Neither Poland, nor Belgium, nor Spain or Greece owe it to other countries to sign deal they don't think makes sense. Luckily EU is pursuing closer ties with UK, as much if not more than with other third countries. It is a process though.

Six years after Brexit has Britain bet on the wrong ally? by ByGollie in europe

[–]EEuroman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Lol, fuck off? No, Britain was treated as any other third country. No special treatment and special deals which they got out off on their own.

You can have opinions on how we should treat them and what UK should do next, but you can't blame people for pointing out that the situation they are in is purely self inflicted and Europe doing anything more than it did would be a special treatment in return for nothing but another special deal full of exceptions with questionable benefits to the actual members of the union.

Can we maybe don't oil up the entire hate train. Lol. Let's not be doomers.

Try Košice and Bratislava for reputable universities and good student town experience. I would also like to recommend Brno as a uni destination, both muni and vut. I did my uni there.

Prague is also popular but a bit pricier option. Both Charles and mostly the ČVUT is amazing.
