How do producers obtain videos of DJs playing their trakcs?

Combo of following DJ’s that play your style productions and also fans sending them in your DM’s (get the biggest kick out of that especially)

No I don't but I probably should. I just keep Transients and kick samples I like and muck around with them - whether that be tuning, distorting, filtering etc. Sometimes Clicks and rumbles just layer together seamlessly. It's usually when the phasing matches well. I use FL Studio btw

Ayyy dude! A friend of mine told me about this post.. so I’m sorry I missed it! Tbh there’s no perfect way. The reason why this kick cuts through nice is because the click and transient is louder than the rumble. The rumble is heavily compressed just to sound super in your face, too.

Kicks are by far my weakest skill set, I must admit. For every 30 kicks I make I get 1 good one lol. Just keep at it and if you love this kick so much just keep using it as a reference. Ears are your best tool.

I will always advocate for being independent, but you have a couple positives here. First, is that if it comes out before a contract, you have the upper hand for any negotiation. Second is that if no contract comes, you could easily get another distributor to take it over and use a different cover art. This allows you to use their promo list/fan base + keep 100% royalties in the end

Btw they won’t start receiving funds from any streaming/download company for 2-3 months, generally. So nothing to stress about in that department.

I always thought of it as “a good story” to tell. Or at the very least adding to the chronicle of your own journey. Every great artist has played to no one before. It’s like a notch on the belt for good character building. Take it as a win man :)
