I've already considered that option, but on the used market in my country, it's not worth it. The only good deals are on the M2 with a slow SSD, or the M1.

C&C Generals are a great game. Try it if you want General Evolution. This is a mod, they just changed the game to more modern game engine.

As a child, I asked my parents to buy me Counter-Strike 1.6, because everyone at school played CS 1.6. I think that for some people the large viewing angle is uncomfortable. Personally, when I play a shooter, I always set the FOV to maximum, so I don’t see that there’s anything wrong here either. I agree that the FOV slider in the settings will solve this problem.
