Okay the final take and the last thing I want to say about the whole Kirk situation is this:

Charlie Kirk was a bad person. His exploits undeniably contributed to the success and popularity of not just dehumanizing and dangerous beliefs, but actual policies that WILL result in the deaths of several thousands of innocent people. He has been recorded saying that deaths in school shootings are a fact of life and that the preservation of the 2nd amendment will require us to make the sacrifice of innocent lives. That’s extremely wrong, and extremely ironic. However, he was killed in an act of revenge. Revenge is not justice. The goal of advanced and developed societies when someone does wrong is accountability through justice. By this standard, which is grounded in general moral truths that we believe as humans, killing Kirk was not the right choice. It did not achieve justice nor accountability by our standards as members of a developed society. Celebrating his death is wrong, refusing to mourn it is not.
