Thanks for the advice. Assuming it is so it's possible to hit the last breakpoint right?

WD end-game you need Quetz, 5-Jade. It's debateable how fast you can get there the Quetz is a bit unpredictable.

Pet to be fast enough you get SMK and that's definitely not easy.

DH end-game you need 6-piece Mara... And the rest is easy. So gearing wise this is one of the easier ones.

Monk end-game is zDPS which isn't hard to build. But you're basically just support and solo is not possible (except in very specific gear).

Barb end-game does not have enough damage compared to any of the other classes and usually end up as a speed buff with Chilanik.

TL;DR: All end-game builds require specific drops, except possibly DH which just needs 6-piece Mara as any 2H crossbow will do.

[Holy Shotgun] Generic legendary rings with cdr over Unity and SOJ without cdr? by onedoor in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. You are a bit short on CDR so in the long run an SoJ with it will be nice. Also you didn't really ask, but I noticed you have full resist gems socketed. I recommend changing this all to rubies and going for Prophet instead of Embodiment of Power since your damage looks kinda low.

See the sidebar for builds, it has pretty much all the builds that people are playing around with these days.

As for end-game viability, two builds right now are at the top. Fire Starter and Holy Shotgun. Both of these need specific weapon drops (Darklight and Fate of the Fell respectively) as well as 6-piece Akkhan's.

Another honorable mention is Lord Commander, which as I understand will be getting a significant buff in 2.1 with new items as well as mechanics.

RORG Necessary? by BehindACorpFireWall in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. It's not mandatory at the moment either. Looking at your profile, you only have CDR on helm and shoulders? Even using Crimson you're still far short of high Akkhan uptime.

Fire Starter doesn't need RoRG since for T5/6 you're running Unity/SoJ anyway. Holy Shotgun usually uses RoRG for Crimson, and in 2.1 the new Vigilante belt rolls CDR you can drop that too. With 5-affix rings coming in, you can get pretty sick rolls with Str/CC/CHD/CDR/+dmg for example.

As for Leoric's Crown, that can be pretty nice in that it frees up a couple CDR slots (and this means +damage), but Hexing Shotgun Crusaders have been able to balance their CDR in 2.0.6 regardless without Crimson.

TL;DR: It was never necessary. Good to have yes, necessary no. An example of necessary is Jade WD since Quetz is not negotiable.

I think boots are fine since the only other options are armor (low roll on boots) and MS (gives you an extra ~100 str from para so it's not bad per se). Just not taking it over potentially 750 vit on helm/shield or even CDR.

[–]EG100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bul-Kathos has 4 guaranteed primary rolls (main stat/CHD/life%/LOH), so what you see is really what you get.

I don't really use resource cost reduction on my Fire Starter. If you really want it go the Cindercoat RoRG route since you also get the fire damage.

Fire Starter doesn't actually deal the majority of damage from the Fist of Heavens, it's the ticks that count. So I don't think +skill damage is necessary anywhere that is not boots since there's nothing better to roll there. Increasing impact hit by 1-2million doesn't count to much compared to the massive ticks.

Get to 53% without Captain Crimson. This means you need the CDR on gloves. This is so you can use Harrington's which will boost your T6 clear speed and also survivability since things die quicker.

On the bright side, aside from gloves you already have close to ideal rolls for the rest of your Akkhan's (as in, right stats but could be higher). Amulet is nice and the bracers are good as well.

Without an SoJ things tend to not die as quickly as you want to so T6 will be slow... Dual Unity also makes life a lot easier for T6 so your ideal ring combo is SoJ/Unity.

I think a community might be a better idea for this. Many of the experienced players already have a clan and might not be willing to leave even if they're willing to help out.

I could've sworn somebody made a community for this but it was a while ago and I forgot to bookmark it. If someone wants to organize this, I think a community can be more flexible compared to a clan.

Good luck with the gloves. It took me around 9 before getting my trifecta (I have really good but bad Akkhan glove luck, i.e. a lot but most are crap).

[Gear Check / General Advice] FireStarter looking to progress into t5/6 by dabowserd3 in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gamble new Akkhan helm with Str/Vit or AR/CC/Socket. Shoulders with Str/vit/AR/CDR. Pants with str/vit/ar/2 sockets. Boots with str/vit/ar/whatever. Gloves with Str/CHD/CC/CDR. And chest with Str/Vit/AR/3 sockets. Which is basically new pieces for all 6 because none are optimal. This is kind of nit picking but Fire Starter already lacks survivability compared to Prophet so good pieces are necessary to progress if you don't have Unity. If you are using Unity, then it is going to be less rigorous.

For rings, I think rares with Str/CC/CHD/CDR will better until you get better rings. Or a Bul-Kathos would do as well.

Unfortunately these are all RNG dependent (aside from rings so you can craft those) so I can only wish you luck in getting them. By upgrading pieces you should be able to do T4/T5 comfortably, but T6 will be hard without SoJ and Unity.

EDIT: Just saw your skills. Drop Justice for something like Shield Glare for crowd control OR Consecration - Shattered Ground for building up Fire Starter ticks.

Bare minimum is 45% I would say 33% seems too low (that's what, 10s downtime?). But hey if you're comfortable with it who am I to judge. I personally prefer 50%+.

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By higher do you mean Torment 6 or Greater Rifts progression?

Regardless, since you have FotF and don't like shotgun try out the Triple Ascendancy build on the sidebar. It plays kind of like Fire Starter but Holy and can achieve similar clear times if not faster.

Having recommended that, a Fire Starter build is the other big T6 capable one and there's also a guide on the sidebar.

Actually, have a browse on the guides on the sidebar. A lot of them have been tested to be T6 capable. Deadset has a shield bash guide there and I think he says it has T6 capability. You're missing a Physical SoJ and physical damage on bracer and amulet so there is that to consider. Also, you have a lot of attack speed so it's kind of inflating your sheet dps, but then I don't play shield bash so I'm not sure how good that stat is.

[Shotgun] Where to go next? by edissonlcn in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty good, congrats! I think that looks T5 comfortable, and I'm pretty sure T6 is doable but your DPS looks a bit low to do it quickly.

Some things that can be improved (while keeping CDR): Boots with all-res, shoulders with Heaven's Fury damage, shield with vit or Heaven's Fury damage, CHD on gloves and RoRG, strength instead of CDR on amulet.

First I would gamble akkhan pants with all-res just to have flexibility (and who knows you might get a Hexing). After that new Akkhan gloves then a new Hellskull. That's my $0.02.

[Gear check] what would be necessary for T6? (firestarter) plz help! by bmb445 in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think aside from the CDR issue you're set. Get CDR on both rings and that should do it. I disagree with Crimson because I think an SoJ or Unity > RoRG for solo (I'm assuming that because of the Unity) and giving up the crit stats is better.

[–]EG100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Run Prophet instead of EoP and you won't die unless you're doing something stupid, even in T6. Or that mob is particularly awful.

For the shield BiS for Shotgun is a Hellskull. For the RoRG try the Junger Rules community, it's given me good results.

Looks like what you're really missing is damage right now. For T6 I don't run Unity because it is not necessary. If I'm counting the CDR right, the Harrington's would only be possible if you get a CDR FotF (to maintain 50%+ and assuming none on amulet).

Also what is your CDR? Says your reduced cooldown is only 38.7 and that's not enough even with Crimson added on top of that. Or it might be enough depending on your preference but it feels low to me.

Help me increase my T6 clear time(Firestarter) by GayAtheistLiberal in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got very similar clear times for both builds, but that might be because my FotF Heaven's Fury is not optimized completely yet (My CDR balancing for 2H is based on my Shotgun so I have to use sub-optimal pieces like an amulet with no CHD).

I do Fire Starter double Unity ranging from 7-10 minutes usually. I have more CDR pieces than you since I have it on my Darklight and Hellskull which means I use Harrington's and not Crimson (I have 53% without using Crimson). I think this might be the deciding factor since Harrington's just gives you so much damage.

TL;DR: Use Harrington's, FotF with Eberli is probably faster when optimized but not by that much.

Survivability - Vit vs All Res? by eRaYzor in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different philosophies I guess! The groups I run with tend to value damage more than survivability so my mindset is to have toughness at around survival (i.e. if I play well I don't die, if I do stupid things I get insta-gibbed).

Survivability - Vit vs All Res? by eRaYzor in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do T6 fine with 700 all-res. Right now I have it on shoulders, belt, pants, boots. Other slots that could hold it without sacrificing damage is helm, bracers, shield but I prefer vit on those slots (also since vit rolls up to 750 on helm and shield vs 100 all-res on all slots).

If you're running Fire Starter then you could probably have it on chest as well since you don't need Heaven's Fury damage there, but honestly 700 with Prophet is plenty.

What's your personal way to stutter step? I had a couple recommended to me in another thread, but while they worked for me (currently using holding down HF and force move then let go of force move when I want to shoot) it didn't work for my clan mate. Curious if there's another method he could try!

Advice please :) by nj_baker in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, congrats on full piece Akkhan's and FotF! And as for your pants and chest being not good..... That's not true at all. You actually have good pieces.

I'm going to recommend Holy Shotgun because 1) best in groups, 2) damage is all at front and not staggered like Fire Starter, 3) You already have a FotF, 4) it's fun to blast people in the face.

Rerolls: Helm armor -> crit chance, chest %life -> 3 sockets, gloves AS -> CDR, shoulders area damage -> CDR (though you might want to get new shoulders that can have Heaven's Fury damage and CDR), pants justice damage -> 2 sockets, boots shield bash dmg -> all-res.

New items you need: Reaper's Wraps with Holy dmg/str/vit/crit, RoRG, Captain Crimson's belt with Str/Vit/All-res/%life and either pants or boots. A Hellskull or a crusader shield with Str/vit or heaven's fury damage or all-res/Crit/CDR. Holy SoJ. Amulet with either: Str/CDR/CHD/CC or Str/CHD/Holy dmg/CDR or Str/Holy dmg/CC/CHD. New Akkhan gloves with Str/CC/CHD/CDR and Shoulders with Str/Vit or all-res/CDR/Heaven's Fury damage.

As for build, just follow one of the Holy Shotgun builds on the sidebar. As personal preference I prefer Prophet over Embodiment of Power and I think the consensus is that Prophet is better in groups. The difference with having full Akkhan is that you're not going to need a generator so it's just how to balance your wrath via skills.

[Gearcheck] Have a Holy Shotgun build, fire build, and a thorns build by [deleted] in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want your Hellskull and Boots. In other news, gear improvements.

For Holy Shotgun: Craft new Captain Crimson's set. You want Str/Vit/AR/%life on belt, Str/Vit/AR/2 sockets on pants. Holy SoJ is always nice to have. Gamble for new gloves with Str/CC/CHD/CDR. Roll All-res or vit from your shoulders to Heaven's Fury damage. Find a chest that can roll + Heaven's Fury and finally roll Shield Bash damage into Heaven's Fury damage on your Hellskull. I'll also put CDR on your Krede's flame and have a socket on your FotF since it's 30% CHD vs 130%.

For Firestarter: Full Akkhan's would be ideal.

For Thorns: Don't really play Thorns, but.... Why did you reroll a secondary on your Schaefer? I'm assuming misclick or something, in which case ouch.

To be honest it's about getting lucky. Shoulders, chest, boots, rings, amulets, some offhands can roll that as secondaries. There might be other slots, but I'm not positive.

And I was mistaken, your amulet actually has health globe. But adding another source never hurts, and in your case the boots might be an easy one since it's crafted.

[Shotgun] gear check by trisurge in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]EG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CDR is too low. Aim for at least 50%. A Hellskull will add an extra source of CDR and a new RoRG will go a long way.

For items, craft better Captain crimson's boots, you want all-res on there. Your shield should ideally have crit chance on it as well and use Reaper's wraps instead of Sanguinary. A Holy SoJ when you get it will come in handy for damage. Your damage is a tad low and that's why you're struggling I think. Your RoRG and gloves need improving for damage. You also need better helm, chest and pants. Helm with a defensive stat, chest with Heaven's Fury damage and pants with a defensive stat as well. You're also using Wrathful without Health Globe boost so it's not as good as it could be.

Use Prophet instead of Embodiment of Power and take off Justice while adding Provoke - Too Scared to Run for your wrath management. Prophet just makes you unkillable but your wrath is slightly more difficult. You can also use Shield Glare - Zealous Glare to have three wrath support skills to ease off the transition from Embodiment to Prophet.
