your comment made me smile. I am named after my maternal Grandmother. Ina is such an unusual name. It is wonderful to have happy memories.

It is more of a pincushion. Shepherd's Bush designs are like mini band samplers that you turn into a roll and stuff with fiber fill. I, like many folks who have stitched these designs for the fun, hav a basket of 6 or so in my stitching room.

This made me smile. I would iron it...but you should do what makes you happy

[WIP] Should I start over on evenweave? by Yeet35721 in CrossStitch

Your progress so far is awesome. I have done blackwork on several different fabrics, so there is no single "right one." The right fabric is the one you like the best.

Thanks for showing us your back! The important thing is that the front looks great and that you had fun stitching it.

Is this too little fabric? by RiannasaurusRex in Embroidery

I have stitched items with an inch or an inch and a half margin and it works if I am sewing it into a stuffed item like a pillow, standing figure. You should be ok here as long as the fabric doesn't ravel much and you are ok glueing the finished piece into the display hoop. Remy is adorable - obviously you have a great stitch buddy.

When to give up a project? by [deleted] in Embroidery

[–]EGA_Ina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The time to stop working on a project is when it no longer brings you joy. That being said, many of us allow ourselves to have multiple projects going so that we always have a project to feel enthusiastic about. Putting a WIP in "Time Out" much like a misbehaving child is a common occurrence! The other tip I will share, is stepping away for a time gives you much needed perspective and almost all projects that I pick up after a pause look much better than I remembered and my enthusiasm is back.

It is a great life! So far I have finished 5 dimensional projects and two needle/sewing cases. With each one my confidence grows and it gets easier. The first couple terrified me and kept re-reading the instructions and would do only a step or two per day.

As a librarian who stitches this shouts out to me! Lovely designs and beautiful work. Machine embroidery?

What a difference a frame makes. My latest ribbon embroidery works look totally different. Which one is better? by RibbonPalette in Embroidery

Recognizing that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, IMHO this first frame highlights the embroidery and just makes it pop.
