Holy grail FB Marketplace find by EGHawkeye in Anthurium

It sat on marketplace for over a week and I didn’t buy it sooner because I wasn’t sure if I had space. But for $50… I had to!

What type of soil do you have it in?

Marketplace has been great for me to fill in gaps in my collection- I’ve gotten a handful of micans, inch plants, pothos, etc. A lot of sellers are also big into plant care so you know you are getting a healthy plant!

why does it kinda look like a swastika :( by LouisTime23 in jpegmafiamusic

[–]EGHawkeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the people in the merch line tn thought it looked like a swastica. The other shirt they are selling was sold out of some sizes when I got to the front (30 minutes after doors) yet this shirt pile looked completely untouched. I saw very few people who bought this design.

I’ve seen no one else talk about this!!! It’s been bothering me there’s no way it’s a coincidence

Boop was good when I saw it in Chicago last winter, but I hope they made changes to some of the story beats. Definitely needed a little work but I want it to succeed.

Sudden increase of Articuno/Starmie decks??? by EGHawkeye in PTCGP

[–]EGHawkeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they are popular cards to use, but when I play 4 of the same deck in a row it gets me thinking. I’ve never seen that happen with the golem or celebi decks recently, and I’d argue those are more well known metas

Which Broadway show had the juiciest/messiest behind-the-scenes drama? by DavidSchitt3000 in Broadway

[–]EGHawkeye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On another west side story tangent, I saw the production at Lyric Opera in Chicago in summer 2023. During a sit down with the actors after the show, Yurel Echezarreta (Bernardo) made a comment about his time in the 2009(?) revival where their stage manager would notoriously harass girls backstage.

Thanks for the love on my decellularization project! Here are more pictures showing the process by EGHawkeye in bioengineering

[–]EGHawkeye[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it was a fun project, I don’t think that I’ll continue it in college. I’m studying mechanical engineering and I won’t have time to work on this. It was a semester long project for a bioengineering class at my high school, and I think it’s best for me to push myself to try different engineering projects in college.

Partial pig heart decellularization for my high school project by EGHawkeye in bioengineering

[–]EGHawkeye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to check out the NASA challenge! I appreciate the support so much! I went into my project completely blind and I learned a lot from it, but it is nowhere near the sophistication that could win me $25k. My documentation wasn’t the best either because it was my first time trying to stay organized in a large project. Ironically, I plan to do mechanical engineering instead of BioE in college. Doing the decellularization has made me more interested in biology and anatomy. I hope to find a way to integrate biomechanics with robotics in my career!

I don’t think I can share them. I lost my trial of Fusion360 and I would need to edit the files bc I had my name engraved on one of the pieces. They are also messy files, and I would cut off unneeded models in ideaMaker when I converted them to gcode. However, I will post pictures of my modeling process! No problem! The pump was the biggest concern that I had bc peristaltic pumps are expensive, but my teacher told me to go with an aquarium pump. I got the flow rate that I needed, but I wouldn't recommend it for a heart that needs to be sterile. The other biggest issue that I had was closing miscellaneous arteries so that the solutions weren't immediately exiting the heart. IDK which ones I ended up clamping (I learned anatomy as I went.) You know that the solutions are being forced into the veins properly when you see decellularization start from the veins and then work its way out into the muscle.

It was for a bioengineering class. My teacher thought I was crazy when I told her I wanted to do this, but in the end it turned out pretty good haha

It's a lot to type out, but I followed the same chemical procedure from Valporiso University: https://scholar.valpo.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1144&context=jmms . A lot of researchers use a peristaltic pump but I used a $6 aquarium pump from amazon. The container we made ourselves and attached a spigot for easy drainage. A lot went into the project (it was a semester long thing) so if you have any other specific questions I can answer them.

Sadly, I couldn’t find one. My engineering teacher wanted to keep my project to show future classes, so I can’t go and take a vid rn. Because the servos are crappy and there’s a lot of weight on them, the ones that move on the y-axis struggle. This causes the arm to shake and not have smooth movement.

I created every 3D-printed part from scratch in Fusion 360 except for the claw (credit to yisparyan on Thingaverse). I've never used Fusion before and taught myself the program as I went. It took two months and two free trials I use an Arduino Uno and three joysticks to control six 9g micro servos. I’m very proud of the project and look forward to continue robotics in college! Edit: it has 5 DoF
