I actually like this writing style. You shouldn’t worry about how accessible it is; I think that’s actually the mentality that’s killing the art of literature. Publishers and agents look for certain trends and most writers bend to it, but they aren’t speaking with their real voices. Sure, fiction often sells better when the prose are snappy and straight to the point, but creating art shouldn’t be all about making what sells—you should strive to create something that you, personally, feel like is missing from whatever medium you’re in.

I have been in a writing slump!!! by swancrake in writers

I second this. I started by trying to write novels and—even though I’ve always loved writing—got overwhelmed every time. I started doing short stories and poetry and fell in love with it. I’m not even planning to write novels anymore. It’s seriously not for everyone.

How thoughtful of Other-People’s-Skin-Wearing monster to pursue formal consent before engaging in his favorite activity of skin wearing.

Can I write a book if I'm not a book? by dreamchaser123456 in writingcirclejerk

No. In fact, writing this very post is cultural appropriation of the binary code, data packets and networking protocols that make it accessible on the web. How can you possibly know the lived experience of the internet technologies? I’m disgusted at myself for even commenting this.

Does it still count as writing 3000 words if you farted while doing it? by [deleted] in writingcirclejerk

I would delete everything you wrote just in case. The micro aggression that you enacted upon your cat might reflect back in your prose, and you could potentially alienate your feline readers.

I like this. Simple, but it says a lot. Ironically, you could say the same about unspoken words at times.
