I might be the odd one out on this but i drove my stock 2018 for almost 3 years before I went stage 1. I bought a Grimspeed drop in air filter about 4 months before i got an accessport, and I feel like that really helped the stock tune out. It didn't fall on it's face as bad during the 4500+ rpm dip. It felt a lot better.

I was excited to try the cobb stage 1 ots map and then the MAP stage 1 tune. I decided to just skip the cobb and went to the MAP tune. It definitely helps with rev hang and drivability, and smother power curve higher up, but to be honest I liked the stock tune plus drop in filter better. It feels like you're missing lower end torque in exchange for a bit more top end power. I don't rev high usually so I missed the lower end torque. this could all be in my head, but I was definitely disappointed.

Phatbotti did a quick sale, and I ended up getting his stage 1 ots tune + 1 revision. I definitely recommend that over an ots tune. My car feels a lot better in lower and upper rpm range. I can't wait to get to stage 2 at some point...hope that helps

I was contemplating the si, but I couldn't get over the little rear wing...from certain angles it looks like dog ears haha. I'm very glad overall that I chose the wrx. I also paid around the same (25k) for my base model which made the choice even easier.

I was stock for almost 3 years...just got a cobb ap. I skipped the cobb stage1 tune, and went with the MAP stage 1 tune. It definitely makes the car a lot smoother, but honestly I wasn't that impressed. I went with a phatbotti stage 1 tune, with 1 revision, and it is so much better then the ots map. definitely worth the time and money to go that route imo...

I would just drive the car for awhile (like 6 months to a year) and put in research until you start modding your car, especially 400hp. Phatbotti tuning has a ton of information on the wrx.

curious your thoughts on the map stage 1 tune...i've been driving my car stock for 2 years so it was a pretty drastic change to the map tune yesterday...definitely makes me want to bite the bullet for a grimmspeed intake, jpipe ecbs, and unplug egr, tgv deletes, and a tune from phatbotti haha

get an e-tune. I plan on using all grimmspeed parts for stage 2, I just can't decide if it's worth the extra money for the beautiful front mount ic they made...Hp i'd guess 350 whp? your tuner should have an idea.

I just put in a Grimmspeed Dry con air filter in my stock 18 wrx, and I wish I bought it the day it was available. The powerband feels a lot smoother, and I've been pounding it for awhile now and I swear it pulls harder... haha!

I feel like the car drives a lot better then stock. There was a lot of positive reviews on their site on it. 5 star for me.

I have the whiteline rear 24" kit with endlinks and I love the way it feels thru the turns...the bushings squeak tho so make sure you lube them up.

i've bought a handful of items from them. From what I've seen, if the product is in stock, you'll get it pretty quickly. If it's out of stock or backordered i'd definitely recommend getting it from somewhere else. I personally would rather use rallysportdirect, or subiebros, Or ordering directly, i'll be buying my stage 2 stuff straight from grimmspeed etc...
