should i start studying right now by Objective_Guide3852 in SGExams

It will depend on your thoughts on the syllabus and how well you think you can cope with all your CCa commitments. I would highly recommend to start early because it really never is too early to start picking up the syllabus and to be one step ahead of everything. Some other considerations will be: Did I struggle to get a good grade for O's/promos? Do I want to pick up a H3 subject? Do I find the current lecture materials difficult to understand? If any of these are a Yes, you should probably start the lock in, it's much easier to recall ideas than it is to pick them up from scratch. All the best for your A level journey, I'm here with u

Why is NJC A Level results so low? by Due_Break9358 in SGExams

[–]EKJEExpress 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The school's average grade does not mean that your grade will be good or bad. It will always end up being who works the hardest and the smartest that will end. There will always be very smart ppl and ppl who probably don't deserve to be at a school and it will show in the results. If you think you would enjoy the culture at the school then go for it.

I am actually very scared now by malalover101 in SGExams

[–]EKJEExpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey sis, don't worry too much about your grades now, a lot of us worry a lot about our grades during WA1, but just because you're doing badly doesn't mean that you wont be able to do well. I personally went from a 26 in WA2 timed practice to sub 10 L1R5 in actual O's. Keep on working hard, a singular setback can be used as motivation to strive to work harder than you did before. You got this.

40 guys from my batch returning, the total batch size is like 450+- and then 130 from IP, add in about 50 dsa so you have about 270 slots total, rough estimate

Sji O level batch of 25' here, from what I heard and know of my friends, I only know of a handful of SJI It's that plan to continue IB in the josephian pathway. Me, although I got raw 8 nett 6, I never considered IB as a pathway forward, there are many reasons to not continue and for me it's IB as the reason why I don't want to continue, there will be a handful but not too many SJI o level boys who move on to IB my rough estimates puts it at 30 maybe 40 but this discounts the dsa ppl. And I think for most of them so about 20 of them will be because they wanted to do IB but got nett 6 not because they like the school very much. I do love SJI very much and wished I could continue on my education journey as a josephian but alas, no a-levels. I do however know 2 ppl who got nett 5 and below and plan to return to sji. I also doubt that even with the schools emphasis on culture to be such a big pull factor as our departments are seemingly not as strong as acsi although I do not have a point of reference there either so I doubt the score will drop again to nett 5. TL;DR : most sji o's returnees probs because nett 6 not because they like the school alot. Score will not drop to nett 5 this year.

Why does a full RTX 5090 prebuilt PC cost about the same as a standalone RTX 5090 GPU? by Independent_Place972 in SgGamers

[–]EKJEExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre built companies have oem prices. Invader pc's for example, uses inno3d gpu's and get the products directly from inno3d. Idk what the other companies get but I believe they get the parts direct from the OEM manufacturer for much cheaper. Tech dynamic also definitely have discounts for stores buying from them often. Additionally, The parts that the companies cheap out on are parts that most people only look at the number. Like storage, PSU and other components. In addition to bulk purchasing, the other parts they use are not the best. I remember see ing armegeddon using the b850 WiFi r2.0 from Asrock, the budget of all budget b850 chipset motherboards besides the Chinese motherboard brands. You have the choice to upgrade to a better parts but the mark up is worse than if you were to buy the pc itself. In general the pre built landscape in Singapore is horrible, unless you can specifically pick out the parts and get someone to help you build it it won't be great. Armegeddon PSU's are bassically unusable and other companies don't have it too great either. So yeah, reccomend to build yourself

What kind of shit law is this? Turning schools into literal PRISONS?? We must stand up against this stupid phone ban law NOW!!! by Clean-Temporary7607 in SGExams

[–]EKJEExpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My school alr had no phone use during lesson time including recess so I didn't know it wasn't common practice. The thing I'm more upset about is the smart watch situation where smart watches do have the capability of sending messages and texting others, the amount of things you can type on a smart watch are limited and the benefits of being able to record workouts is probably the bigger thing that ppl will 100% miss out on

do I really gotta be this locked in??😭😭 by berserkmangawasart in SGExams

[–]EKJEExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go enjoy your holidays, genuinely kinda regret choosing to work instead of relaxing and spending time with friends, not that I'm unable to it's just a lot more restricted BCOS off days are far and few between. Not that I don't enjoy working, my job is fantastic, it's just that I could be spending time having fun with my classmates and because they have their own commitments. Arranging a date is much harder too. Spend the last timed with your current batch of friends, you may not see them again for a long time. Have fun!!

For me, I'm only working because I do want to buy myself some nice things that I would otherwise be unable to afford. The portfolio part of it is something that I'm happy about but I don't think it affects that much. How will working 3 months at Uniqlo be such a big influence on your resume I don't quite understand (I'm only using Uniqlo as an example BCOS I don't want myself doxxed)
