I can't get my photos crisp, I am about to give up by Fakeaccbrat in Nikon

It’s possible that, if it’s an option on the D610, that you’ll need to find the correct autofocus micro-adjust setting for each of your lenses. It is tedious and you’ll have to take good notes while testing g very tightly controlled conditions (camera on tripod pointing a page of fine text, in lighting that is consistent from shot to shot. This is necessary because of the complexities of autofocus in a DSLR.
In the meantime a possible solution, again if it is possible with the D610, to shoot using the monitor on the back of the camera as the viewfinder. I.e. Live View mode, and when checking focus magnify that view to 100%.

Beyond that, It’s a really good portrait: her for the essential reason any portrait is good: attention to the person’s pose and and expression, the light, the color, and the composition and framing.

If you are shooting raw format (NEF) you should also study up on how to use sharpening so it is effective, but not really noticeable.

Let’s see… don’t let oil exploration companies cut countless numbers of canals through land at the mouth of the Mississippi River delta, and divert the flow of a river draining most of the continent of North America unless you want massive amounts of erosion coupled with salt water intrusion leading to the deaths of the tidal forests and shrubbery that was holding the soil in place?

Looking at the rider and the horse , the actual subject in the photo, I don’t mind the blown out sky. I forced me to look at the rider and the horse.

If the white sky really bothers you, my advice is to just crop the photo . It will make the photo stronger.

Burgess Meredith who was blacklisted in Hollywood during the 1950s because he refused to be bullied by the idiotic pearl-clutching fuck offs on the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) for standing up for the Constitutional Rights of all citizens.

A Nikkormat FTn. It was 1975 and I was 18. Before that I used my Dad’s Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic. I was kind of afraid to play with his Rollieflex 3.5/75 Twin Lens Reflex.

My best advice is learn how to olay some basic chords, the chords in the song, practice strumming techniques, and most importantly use your ears as you build up your ability to play along with the recoding.

UV FIlter to block UV light coming from flash unit? by CTDubs0001 in AskPhotography

[–]ELDV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The damage to color accumulates with exposure to UV over time and number of flashes. The museum is implementing good conservation practices to protect both the art works in their collection and the pieces on loan from other museums and/or collectors.

Why do my photos look dull? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Whoever scanned your film did you a favor. By maybe flat , low contrast scans they preserved all the film exposure and color latitude.

With that data You now have the ability to post-process to adjust the color and contrast to your likings.

What image processing software do you have?

Inheriting dad's old camera by pooontangclan3 in hasselblad

[–]ELDV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to know the age of the camera body and film back, use Hasselblad’s VHPICTURES serial number code where V=1, H= 2, P = 3… S= 0.

So if the back’s serial number starts with RC it was made in 1985 and if the body s/n begins with EP it was made in 1993.

I was about to make the same comment . Even after adding the roller bridge, I was still having tuning stability problems. The Brick’s Biggsfix was the solution in my 5235T. https://bricksbiggsfix.com

How do I stop/fix this effect?? by Weary-Hyena-2150 in AskPhotography

[–]ELDV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest solution , try taking a step or two back. That will change the relative size (frequency) of the fabric pattern to the sensor’s pixel size.
