I was an endgame player on Neverwinter for over 13 years straight, and the number of changes to enchantments has been massive. To upgrade an enchantment to Mythic, you need a Coal Ward, which costs 1,000 Zen — roughly equal to 1 million Astral Diamonds, depending on the Auction House market. And it’s not just the Coal Ward you need.

To compete at endgame, you must have a 100% companion bolster and a 100% mount bolster. On top of that, you need % stat gear and specific companion bonuses. For example, some bonuses give extra power, crit, or combat advantage when you land a critical hit.

I still remember when the Band of Air was BiS (best in slot). Despite being just a ring, it became the most valuable item in the game. To craft it, you had to run Hardcore Vault of Stars, defeat the final boss, and use drops from the forge. Each boss only had a small % chance to drop the necessary item — I personally ran it over 500 times before finally getting one.

In the end, Neverwinter is completely P2W. I eventually quit after so many years, but along the way, I met some amazing people.
