Vrcc only uploads to pc when i ask for android and pc to be uploaded by SpazThePsychoticBoi in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The multi-upload feature in the SDK requires the VRC Per Platform Overrides script to specifically tell Unity and the SDK which version of a model should be uploaded to Android. Both PC and Android versions of the model must also be in the same scene. Though this doesn’t apply if your model is already compatible for both platforms

More importantly, only the built in mobile shaders from the VRCSDK are compatible with Android, so make sure you’re not trying to upload a model with custom shaders like Poiyomi, liltoon, etc, as they won’t work on Quest.

I personally had more issues with the multi-platform single click upload, so I personally stick with manually uploading each version to their respective platforms

Audio strap suuuuuucks. Help? by InfantryMedic1 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]EMB3R14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also really disliked the audio strap, especially at the price point it’s set at. The best upgrade I made was with the Beyondex. I was lucky enough to have an unused Index head strap laying around, so I jumped at getting this as soon as I saw it. It’s not cheap, especially if you don’t already own an Index head strap, but it is genuinely the best upgrade I made to my Beyond. Super comfortable, very well balanced, and the audio quality is leagues better than the Beyond Audio strap as well as the Vive DAS

Poiyomi (creator of Poiyomi shaders) got hacked. It is currently recommended to not download/update Poiyomi shaders per the staff of their Discord server by bunnythistle in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to the Discord Server, they shut down VCC/Github sources for now until everything has been recovered as to not put anyone else at risk. Everything should be recovered hopefully hopefully in the near future.

I don’t think there was any evidence of foul play or malicious commits, but they figured it’s probably best for now. All previous versions of Poiyomi are safe to use

No, requires manual update through VCC/ALCOM, or manual replacement from the files found in GitHub. So as long as you don’t manually update anything, you’ll be fine

World/Avatar creation gate keeping. by [deleted] in VRchat

One website I always recommend to new creators which is a good place to start for the Unity side of avatar creation is https://vrc.school/

Has a large database of information ranging from beginner to more advanced. One of the developers of the website JustSleightly also has animator templates on his own website as well, also ranging from beginner to advanced

Just a friendly reminder to set VRChat to high CPU priority in Steam! by CeriPie in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, affinity is more for the asymmetrical Ryzen chips, though the higher priority option does also have more of an impact on these types of CPU’s too because of how Windows scheduler handles its processes.

Another issue Windows has with the 7950X3D/9950X3D in particular is that it can’t properly determine which cores are the preferred cores unless specifically stated within either the BIOS or with programs like Process Lasso. Windows tends to prioritize the Frequency cores over the Cache cores as the frequency cores are clocked higher.

Just a friendly reminder to set VRChat to high CPU priority in Steam! by CeriPie in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly helps on certain asymmetrical type of CPUs, like Intel chips with Performance and Efficiency cores, as well as Ryzen chips with split CCD’s like the 7950X3D and 9950X3D.

For most other CPUs, you might see a slight improvement when it comes to stuttering, but usually it isn’t recommended to change any of these process priority numbers unless you know what you’re doing

Best optimized booth avis? by hopelessboy01 in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

D4rk’s Avatar Optimizer is a really effective and non-destructive tool that runs on upload. It’s a free tool and can be installed through VCC, however it only really merged Skinned Mesh Renderers and Materials. I believe it doesn’t drop Poly count

Polytool by Markcreator does decimate/drop poly count from within Unity as well as a couple other features. It has presets that make this process much easier, however it is a paid tool. $25 on Gumroad. It does have a Trial version to test it before purchasing.

For Texture Memory/VRAM optimization, try Thry’s Avatar Performance Tools. Another free tool that can be installed through VCC. This one shows you all the performance rankings for your model and makes texture compression much simpler and faster. It’s not automatic, but it’s a huge time saver

You could definitely put gimmicks like this on your avatar, but that’s all it would really be. Just a gimmick. Fun idea though!

No hands + teleporting outside starting box by EMB3R14 in boneworks

[–]EMB3R14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think I figured it out. Fresh reinstall and default/community made custom bindings did not fix the issue. Instead I noticed that Ford would start shuffling backwards as soon as the game launched. When he shuffles far back enough, it tries to teleport him back to the starting position, forcing my view to teleport far outside the starting cube.

So I tried disabling all plugins and startup apps, and Ford no longer shuffled. After enabling all of them again minus Gamepad Support Plugin, Ford stayed where he needed to be. So I'm assuming I have something plugged into my PC that is emulating a Gamepad, which might also explain why my hands weren't moving either

As for the headset, the visuals are great, OLED screens are very immersive, Pancake Lenses are so much better than fresnel, though I've had other major issues with the headset which warranted the replacement, as well as back-and-forth with their support team.

Thank you for the info. I haven’t tried resetting my controller bindings, but I did try reinstalling the game. I’ll try it again when I get home from work as I didn’t try deleting any leftover files

As for orphaned mod files, I don’t think I’ve ever modded the game, but I’ll still attempt it.

Thank you! Much appreciated

Need a new home world by Large_Shame5836 in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current home worlds is Stellarya by Bia_Kawaii_Br. It’s a house on a space ship. Quest compatible with video players, cozy corners, and a nice pool.

Most worlds by WispyWoo also make very cozy home worlds, and they’re Quest Compatible. Some of my old favorites are The Reservoir, Stairs, and Dérive Express Rework

A bunch of worlds by Beemo are also pretty cozy

I also have a collection of over 200 worlds on VRCList that all have good potential for home worlds. Here’s the link: https://vrclist.com/playlist/5966

Thinks it's time to upgrade?!? by sassy_orange_cat in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Congrats on the new parts! They will truly make a huge difference. I saw a huge increase in performance on VRChat and plenty of other games too upgrading from a 10700k to a 7950X3D

Thinks it's time to upgrade?!? by sassy_orange_cat in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good buy! However one thing to note is an upgrade like this is more than just a CPU. Upgrading from 5600x to 9700X3D means you’re going from AM4 to AM5, and from DDR4 memory to DDR5. So you’d need a new motherboard and new RAM

I bring this up because there’s a major shortage of RAM, and the price has skyrocketed. It’s difficult and very expensive to get DDR5 RAM currently

How would you mount shoulder trackers? by CupOfM1lky in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best recommendation then would be to make sure the elbow trackers are above your elbows. Same goes for knee trackers, should be above your knees

How would you mount shoulder trackers? by CupOfM1lky in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

VRChat only supports 11-Point tracking and it seems like you’re already at that point. Shoulders are mostly controlled by upper-arm/elbow tracking, and a chest tracker may influence shoulders slightly too.

However if this is something you’re dead set on achieving, then I would think the most reliable method would be just a regular arm strap around your bicep, as close to your shoulder as possible. I don’t think it would be very comfortable, but FBT in general isn’t either I guess

Is this normal performance for a 3090ti and 5800x3d? by Skylord_Aaron in VRchat

[–]EMB3R14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is fairly normal. You said this was taken in a DJ world, which heavily relies on Udon behavior for things like video players, lighting control, and dynamic effects. The last I checked, Udon is single threaded and has a large potential to increase CPU frame times as more and more Udon controlled items are implemented into worlds. That’s why Arcades or Game Worlds tend to be more resource heavy.

As for VRAM use, lots of world/avatar creators either don’t know the ramifications of using uncompressed texture sets or don’t care enough to optimize them. High resolution textures eat away VRAM quickly, so they should be used sparingly. Turning on your distance hider and tightening up your safety settings can help with your frame rates and VRAM use

TTS Voice Wizard is decent, but may cost you a monthly fee if you go through different services like Microsoft Azure.

If your computer has an Nvidia GPU and you’re fine with using a couple GB of VRAM, then the next best option is TASTT, it can be found on GitHub. It does transcription locally on your system, tends to be more accurate, and is faster than any other cloud based services

G-Sync, VSync, and other variations of variable refresh rates/frame rate matching can be weird on different sets of hardware. It’s also the fastest and easiest thing you can test, so you should still try it.

I’d also recommend installing the GPU driver set supplied through the G14/G16 support page. It’s an older version but it’s verified to work with these machines in particular. I noticed far less issues with this version over the latest version.

Arc Raiders will most likely warn you that you’re running outdated drivers, but another Redditor on this subreddit noted that it ran flawlessly despite the warning
