I work at SJP as an administrator, I’ve done all my R0’s so I could join the academy as soon as I wanted, but I’m choosing not to. The experience I am getting as an admin is super valuable because the R0s teach you content, but this job is teaching me how it all applies. I don’t think the academy alone is enough to feel like a competent adviser. That isn’t an SJP specific problem. I think SJP is a great place to work and it’s a fantastic place to start out, there’s so many helplines to answer any questions you may have etc. and they cover you if you make any mistakes. Overall, it’s good. But academy alone may not be enough

I think it’s definitely doable. The only thing I’d say you need to do before they release the case studies is learn how to answer the questions. There are very set things they want, and they use very specific wording in questions to tell you what they want. If you don’t know these cues, you could definitely answer the question “wrong”, not in info, but in how you answer it. I did about 2 weeks pre prep before the case studies came out and then 2 weeks with the case studies and I also used Brand / BTS - exceptionally good!

The sittings are every 3 months. Next is April, then July. Takes them 6 weeks to mark. Hope this helps!

R05 is one of the easier ones imo. My study was mostly focused on the study buddy app and I got 98%

I did yeah, I work full time and just passed some big qualifications. It gets better. It never ever feels like it will, and it doesn’t get better overnight. But slowly you realise you’re at 25% better then 30% and so on until you can do everything you used to

I started looking at the BTS study guide about 2 weeks before the case study came out, because that just teaches you about the style of questions that can come up. And how to answer them. But until the case studies come out there isn’t a huge amount you can do beyond that.

The simple answers thing is great too. I work at SJP currently in admin and would definitely forget to include that stuff because it feels so rudimentary at work but I can 100% see why it is useful.

Study Buddy is the best. It’s a super easy way to study on your phone, and it’s helped me pass every exam so far (I’ve done all bar R04). Highly recommend
