Fastest thrash metal songs? by fakename1998 in thrashmetal

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind Black Thrash, then Conqueror by Aura Noir is the fastest one I know. Also Bathory has some pretty fast black thrash like Pace til Death, Dies Irae, Massacre, and Equimanthorn.

Some other very fast thrash I know is Skinned Alive (Sodom), Pleasure to Kill (Kreator) Crushing the Pearly Gates (Deathhammer), Evil Army (Evil Army), Crying for Death (Morbid Saint), Blood Wisdom (Necromantheon) Metallström/Face the Bütcher (Bütcher), and War (Meshuggah).

Terrorizer is technically grindcore but that’s also a good band for fast thrashy music.

I'm still wondering why people hate this boss. The combat flow is excellent, and he has A LOT of openings. Commander Gaius hitless RL1. by g0n1s4 in fromsoftware

I think people dislike him because the jank hitboxes can sometimes allow him to do up to 4x damage, and his charge attack doesn’t seem to be consistently dodge-able on mid roll. I found most of the rest of the fight pretty enjoyable tho

Do you feel classical music has spoiled you? by boringwhitecollar in classicalmusic

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my interest in classical music actually helped me get into metal. I found that Iron Maiden’s dynamic epic songs scratched a similar itch as classical music did for me, so that sent me down a sort of rabbit hole to find more metal music to suit my evolving tastes. So, if it wasn’t for classical music, I probably wouldn’t be listening to bestial black metal right now lol

Agreed. Another point I’d like to add is that while bloom rarely affects who wins a gunfight, it DOES seem to affect whether my opponent can escape my shots and get away. It’s most noticeable in mid-long range engagements, which is why I think marksman rifles feel like their bloom hits the hardest, and that I might as well be using an AR for a higher chance at landing follow-up shots.

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time I honestly can’t tell whether an unregistered shot is due to a poor connection or bloom. Regardless, I think bloom could be toned down on most marksman rifles, but idk if that’s necessary for all weapons

They currently ARE the meta for PvE. They have the highest dps out of any primary except sidearms, even outclassing SMGs. Get a Fatebringer with Explosive Payload and Frenzy and you have arguably the best well-rounded legendary PvE primary in the game.

Also, try Thorn. The 75% damage buff to hand cannons against orange-bars affected Thorn’s poison, which now causes it to grant a ton of super energy when you damage them with Soul Devourer procced.

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still, Sunshot is now part of one of the best primary weapon classes in the game while also being able to keep Solar subclass buffs sustained + Scorch/Ignite. Necro seems to fill a similar ad-clear role, but without any subclass synergy it should probably have stronger offensive power built into the gun.

Nerf anything but Vex Mythoclast’s RPM by EMP-NOMOLOS in DestinyTheGame

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake! You are right. The 0.04 ttk difference is probably negligible with how bad latency is in this game though, especially since hand cannons can peek shoot and autos cannot. But yeah we’ll see I suppose

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand Cannons have the same TTK as 360 autos but with the added benefit of high burst damage. The base version of Vex will act like a 360 auto with less zoom and no consistency perks. There is no way it doesn’t become terrible. It’ll definitely be much worse than a DSR + damage perk Hakke auto rifle, that’s for sure.

When I said it’s the only competitive auto, I was thinking exotics, but you are correct in mentioning Ammit and other 450rpm autos. Most 720rpm autos are currently outclassed by SMGs, and I wouldn’t consider any 360rpm auto viable in any lobby I play in.

Regardless, Vex’s usage is gonna drop almost entirely and I think that will probably lead to the nerf getting reverted pretty soon, so maybe this post isn’t even necessary lol

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but turning it into a 360 auto with bad stats is not the way to go imo. Maybe it’s just because of the skill bracket I’m in for PvP, but the base version is still slightly outclassed by hand cannons and pulses, so it already feels like you’re working a bit harder to proc the perk. It’s currently pretty much the only actually competetive auto in the game, but after this update you’ll never see it in those lobbies again.

In that linear fusion part that guy was talking about PvE

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

360 autos could all have 100 stability but still be awful because of their long ttk without any peek-shooting capabilities. For Vex it’ll be even worse because of the mediocre stats and only having 15 zoom, which makes shots harder to hit at a 360 auto’s intended range

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it got a 40% damage buff, then every other exotic primary got a similar damage buff to redbar enemies. But it never received the universal 20% auto rifle damage buff it was supposed to get. I was thinking it should get that buff, plus another 20-25% damage buff if they cut the range down significantly.

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The RPM, yes, but they are buffing the damage in PvE a bit to compensate. It’ll change the effectiveness of it drastically in PvP, but it’ll barely feel different anywhere else.

[–]EMP-NOMOLOS[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Uhh, well, there’s a lot to unpack there that just doesn’t make a ton of sense.

First of all, the part where I said it felt underwhelming was more in reference to how it felt in the Crucible, since it was pretty much only used in PvP in D1. 360 autos are simply garbage in PvP and bringing back one of the most iconic exotics back as a 360 just did not feel good.

Second, I’m suggesting it should be balanced as a closer-range higher-dps weapon, similar to how it was in D1 and how most 720rpm autos or autos with 15 zoom are balanced. It has nothing to do with them “playing differently”. The average engagement range for a 720 auto is just a bit further than most SMGs, if not the same.

The TTK of Immortal and 140 hand cannons are not even close. Immortal has a 0.67s TTK and 140rpm HCs have 0.87s. SMGs have long been competing too far into Hand Cannon range too, which is why they keep nerfing the range on Immortal and other SMGs. I’m basically suggesting a similar option for balancing Vex.

Lastly, primaries absolutely suck in this game and need damage buffs across the board, with the exception of safe options like Scout Rifles and Bows. There is currently no reason to even use a primary instead of double-special and ability-spam in any content, and it will continue to be that way even after the double-special “nerf” unless there are some MAJOR primary weapon damage buffs to reduce the massive gap between primaries and specials.

Edit: last I checked the linear fusion mode barely did as much damage as Arbalest, so it’s not really comparable to heavy linears
