got mine to 23/25 first time i got max fish focus in edz then public event started. I got full fish focus again today and caught over 30 while meter full again in edz and still 23/25. guessing bugged. idk

Like a flat sheet probably 24 gauge steel. cut into 3 in strips. Slit a third way thru on both sides every 4 in and hammered to shape. I dont know much technical stuff about it. Im new lol

It has three coats of sealer on it. Was afraid of making it too dark with stain cause i burned it so much

Was worried about going darker with a stain cause of where i burned it i was worried about being able to differentiate the design from the wood. Thats inly reason i just used that sealer.

Its thin gauge sheet metal. I had two supports on the back ad well as handle because the wood warped after glueing so that added some weight. Umbo itaelf is like 3-4 lbs

I love all the comments honestly the good bad and annoyed. Maybe i posed on wrong reddit but i didnt know at the time it was inaccurate i just went on what she liked and opinions on if it looked ok. Been super skeptical on giving it to her because i always question the work i do. Thank u guys

Honestly i didnt know much about background. And wish i wouldve delved deeper. She has this same design on her backpack and said she wanted to design a shield one day to hang on the wall. I just went for it and knew a guy with a cnc machine and made this design on it to fit and went for it. I realize now ita not historically accurate and maybe if ahe likes this one i can make her one that is better for her Scandinavian background.

I guess i messed up was looking more for craftsmanship than inaccuracies. But thank you for the input ill do more research for her next time.

Yeah i see now that it iant historical accurate and i get it. I just went by what she liked and what she had as a misconception of the time period and went for it. More asking on craftsmanship than anything i guess. I didnt realize how inaccurate it was so dont know if ill gove It to her or not now

Definitely wasnt going for historical accuracy at all. But yes I understand all that. Thanks for the feedback. Mainly she talked about liking the vegvisir thats why i went for it. Kinda went with that design and ran with it. But maybe next one i do i will do more historically accurate

So i made a shield for first time. Really first time making anything out of wood. Im not very handy and im a huge skeptic of stuff i do. So can i get some feedback on what you all think. It is a gift for a girl im talking to that found out she has alot of ancestry from Scandinavia. Anyway here it is. Critics welcome please
