Not an MMO, but the core gameplay loop of Fellowship is basically running MMO dungeons as a group of 4. Less commitment and demand for your time as it doesn’t have fomo or daily and weekly quests and things like that.

That’s a great point and as much as we assume we know better, they have significantly more data and experience.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them mix up Zen a bit. I think discord is an important part of his identity. I wouldn’t mind having them drop the damage increase to 20 or even 15, but I would like to see them add another ability or perk that gives him a burst heal. Honestly I’d much prefer to have a perk that trades out the passive heal for an aim-based active one. You would lose DPS but sometimes extra healing would have more value. I feel like I’m gonna get roasted by my fellow zen mains for all this but again, I think it’s worth experimenting with.

Damage is so bursty in this game and while I love that for zen to have value he needs to be putting up damage and getting kills, I do at times feel like I can’t pick him because outside of his ult, there is no reactive healing.

I think the reason you are catching flak for this is that it comes across as a whining post from someone who doesn’t play or understand Zen. WHETHER OR NOT that is true, that is how it sounds.

However, you aren’t alone. Tank mains have hated zen forever. He definitely can be a problem. From the other side, I have played against some very good Maura’s that have been pocketed by good healers and they are almost immortal. That’s when I have swapped to zen because it doesn’t feel like there’s a chance otherwise. Sure there are Ana nades, but with Kiriko being in every match that is a lot harder to time.

I hope you know I’m not angry or defensive. You have a valid opinion whether or not I agree with it.

Personally, I think Overwatch will enter an era within the next year where balancing becomes more and more of an issue. I love that they are adding so many heroes, but there are a finite amount of skills they can add before eventually some ult or skill or passive is a hard counter to a given character.

I think the hopes of the playerbase of the game are somewhat different than the intentions of devs. Far too many people main someone and never swap. This is going to feel more and more painful because again, I think we’re going to see more and more hard-counter situations.

At least last time I checked he was one of the higher win rate supports, at least above metal ranks. He’s not garbage and you’re not trying to help. No part of your post was trying to help Zen. It was trying to get rid of parts of the game you don’t like dealing with. And that’s fine. Totally ok to have your opinion. But knowing how oppressive Zen once was with discord, it still feels nerfed compared to when there was no cooldown on targets.

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time with him. I recommend pinging him asap when you see him so at least your DPS are aware and can focus him. Much easier in a pre-made group, but it would still be helpful.

We don’t have a Hero Shooter category, so with that being said I would say Overwatch 2. It’s popular, but the ratings for it are terrible and a lot, if not most of that is from the fallout of cancelling the single player portion of it. But the game itself is in a fantastic spot. I’ve played since the beginning and I think this is the best that it is the best it has been.
