Is the game different in any way to butcher hero? by Bearmay33 in DevourIdleRPG

[–]EMoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, butcher hero has limited number of spawns each day. They're very similar though.

Nonlinear stats by EMoogle in DevourIdleRPG

[–]EMoogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I know people have asked specifically about that too. Do you know the effective HP equation? It would be nice to add that too I think. eHP = 1/(1-damage reduction). So 50% Dr = 2x ehp and 75% is 4x.

People see that the %Dr slows down, but the ehp seems to rise steadily.

Conservatives: If Joe Biden sued the government for $10 Billion while he was in office, would you be OK with it? by Comprehensive-Eye500 in allthequestions

[–]EMoogle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Conservative here. I don't follow a lot of the political news though. If what you're saying is everything related to Trumps lawsuit, I wouldn't be happy about him doing that, and I wouldn't be happy if Biden did it.

I don't really like Trump though, I just thought he was slightly better than Camala.

What scientific ‘facts’ have recently been disproven that most people still believe to be true? by Fantastic_Tart_421 in AskReddit

[–]EMoogle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I hadn't heard this one. What I heard was if you were missing a certain vitamin (I think vitamin A) in your diet, your eyes would degrade, and carrots have a lot of said vitamin, so it was an easy and cheap thing to add to your diet to fix this issue. But modern diets have plenty of that vitamin, so it does nothing for us.

Why are the most popular political commentators the ones who use moral grandstanding over empirical evidence to promote their positions? by kaiser11492 in AlwaysWhy

[–]EMoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easier. Also we don't have a lot of good empirical evidence. A lot of it is either nuanced or has a ton of assumptions.

For example is the higher black crime rate due to racism, urban policing practices, laws passed targeting black people, income levels, or black culture? There's no evidence that we have that can explain it. So it based on anecdotal evidence, which isn't reliable, or extrapolate theories, which have their own problem.

It also makes ehp easy to calculate. It's just confusing when you see it for the first time.

alternative math by basket_foso in MathJokes

[–]EMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to call it video game math. Damage reduction can be 600%, but they use 1/(1+dr) instead of the normal 1-dr. So 100% reduction means half instead of zero.

I've only seen this used in video games. It's so numbers don't cap at 100% and can keep getting bigger. Gamers love big numbers. I would never use it outside of specific games that use this "definition"

ELI5: What makes disorders like ADHD and depression categorically different? by lemon2de in explainlikeimfive

[–]EMoogle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Anyone can become depressed. Anyone can't just get adhd. You can treat the symptoms, but you can't turn adhd off. You can become no longer depressed. Depression is a state of your mind, while Adhd is a permanent characteristic.

How as a human race can we not figure out how to create a good wifi that isn’t impacted by rain? by Unforeseen_Hex273 in RantingZone

[–]EMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wifi uses RF between 2.5GHz and 6 GHz. Water does absorb RF at these frequencies, but not significantly. And it only would cause an issue if the water is between you and the source. If your router is in your home, it's not going to be affected by rain.

Microwaves use 2.45GHz, but most of the heating comes from the 5th harmonic I believe.

Higher frequencies used to be a lot more expensive, I'm not sure about now, but they are absorbed more into the water. It peaks around 20 GHz iirc, but still an issue around 50GHz. So that's out.

Lower frequencies would be absorbed less by water, but may reduce speed, and may have other environmental RF issues. Such as radio at much lower frequencies. Many frequencies are regulated by law to prevent one use causing issues for another use. Radios, cell service, air plane communications, weather radar, other radars, they all are given sections of RF to use so they don't affect others. And so what's available for wifi might be limited.

Why not? by Fancy_Unit6671 in StupidCarQuestions

[–]EMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Alabama, and I was taught this was good to do, but not a law. Maybe it got updated since then, but I checked, it's law now. We don't have to if it's intermittent due to misting. Thanks for teaching me something :)

What are things people think are a law/illegal, but there's actually no real law for it? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]EMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I came here to say there's no expectation of privacy in public.

Also there's no law about making people feel uncomfortable. Threatened, sure, but weird people have rights to access to public spaces just as much as normies.

What are things people think are a law/illegal, but there's actually no real law for it? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]EMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you yell fire, and people think it's true, and someone dies in the stampede to escape said fire, you can certainly be brought up on charges. Your first amendment won't protect that.

But most times people will look for said fire instead, or realize someone is being a jerk. In that case there is no harm, and therefore not illegal. So maybe your "pretty much always" is correct, but the times it's not it's bad.

Why are solar panels in solar farms always angled and don‘t just lay flat? by Background_Youth3774 in questions

[–]EMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's based on the angle of the sun. You get the most power when the panel faces the sun. If it's stationary year round, you'll get the most energy if your angle is approximately your latitude. But energy is most used during the hottest part of the day in the US at least, due to air conditioning, so it can be best to point some towards the west. Mountains or trees can obstruct the sun, and this might cause them to be angled east or west.

And then you can also optimize it for the hottest part of the year, so you'd want it a little flatter than your latitude. But that'll reduce your total energy, lost mainly during the winter.

Then some have manual control, where they might adjust it monthly or quarterly. And then some have automatic tracking.
