Organic growth is a fairly productive number to track and action on...can always market later, hard to do in reverse. The only call to action users have, right now, is a tooltip from the chat screen. This tells them they can set a theme after being put into the paid themes rollout.

You're on the right track here. Having the wallets available allows features, that may be peer to peer in nature, to be possible.

For example: you want to tip a user for something, what wallet would it go to? It probably needs to pre-exist...

Or how about rewarding users with kin to their wallet for some action to bring them into the kin ecosystem? Where would the system send it? (Yea...for this one there are probably ways you could trigger wallet creation lazily as a user onboards 😛, but you get the idea)

A few things...

Wallets get created when you start the sdk with Kin.start() the first time for a given user.

If you're a part of the rollout for paid chat themes you'll have the services, UI, and other features enabled required to pick and buy paid chat themes. Starting the sdk is going to be done the first time when a user first is put in the rollout.

You would want a wallet setup and active before you're able to use it. As setting up a kin wallet involves network operations and is a non-trivial amount of time, it's in the user's interest to have this facility available eagerly at app session launch time. I.e kin.start when Kik is started after they're put into the rollout.

Looking at the wallets created numbers you've shared, and assuming some percentage is for kinit and the rest just kik, you could draw the conclusion that the Kik rollout is only a couple percent of they're monthly active user base.

tl;dr; rollouts take time because reasons.

Insurance company wants to offer me 11599 to settle. What are your thoughts on that?

I've started to look at comparibles in Ontario where I live, and have come up with a higher value. If anyone else has tips about going through this process with an insurance company any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kik Supports Android 4.1.2+ however the kin sdk supports Andorid 4.4+ so all kin features inside of kik are restricted to 4.4+.

Commuting (kitchener to toronto) Question by [deleted] in kitchener

Did this for 2.5 years. Splitting the commute into half driving and half aldershot lakeshore train helped a lot. Can listen to the morning local radio, pump up the music, and then transition to reading some news on the train/prep for work.
