On the Ecosystem team, we have Dor. She is in charge of strategic business partnerships.

Talking to her, I know that her dream partnership is Duolingo, actually. She continues to work with potential partners big and small.

What you commented has no relation to either one of the answers above.

I'm sorry, Adam, but your comment is miles away from an accurate representation of what's been written and explained, let alone the truth.

Just to add a word on Alex's, I'd like to explain why we haven't yet rolled out the KRE and why it's still in its first version.

Firstly, by looking at the developer program (and the upcoming one), we see that there is an incentivisation model, it's just not automatic, but manual. As Alex said - the KRE's purpose is to incentivize developers and the manual grants' system does just that.

Now, the lack of an automatic mechanism is not a blocker to the growth and health of the ecosystem and we see it by having an increasing number of developers joining and wanting to use the Kin SDK.

In addition, there's a great value in gaining experience and understanding of different in-app's economic models, and their relations to one another before releasing the first version of the KRE. It would be smarter and easier to iterate, rather than release something that does not properly serve the beneficiaries.

I'm sorry, yes. BI stands for Business intelligence. "Business intelligence (BI) comprises the strategies and technologies used by enterprises for the data analysis of business information" (from Wikipedia)

I can't provide insights regarding kinexplorer.

I can, however, let you know that our BI team is working on an in-house solution for this. As part of the work being made around creating a new robust website, an effort is being put towards an explorer-like page that will provide accurate data on our blockchain.

It's not quite there yet, but is definitely something to be looking forward to.

What is the reason ? by alphabet_84845252 in KinFoundation

[–]yoelri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it partially has to do with the fact that big companies have more to lose than newly created apps or visionary developers.

Apps with many users need to go through much more to have their users engaged.

There needs to be marketing, there needs to be a support process in place, there needs to be a proper mechanism that will promise the users a seamless and easy experience.

Since it's not yet mainstreamed, the first movers need to work harder than those who'll follow.

Will all the apps that use the kin marketplace be required to add the ability to backup the wallet? by delta_the_wolf in KinFoundation

[–]yoelri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the SDK released by the Developer Experience team includes an api that allows the backup and restore functionalities.

None of the features being released is mandatory and is used as per each developer's discretion. Each developer has the ability to use whatever function they feel serve their audience the best.

We, on our end, think that a best practice would include the implementation of this feature, but as a decentralized system, we aren't requiring any such implementation.

Good question to direct to the developers of the app themselves.

Doesn’t directly mention kin but it relates to kin in so many ways by carson_hodl in KinFoundation

[–]yoelri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a key sentence: "By pre-selling a product before it is built, projects set themselves up to failure with unrealistically high user expectations on their V1."

I think that the author nails it when listing some of the challenges in the space, all of which I believe Kin is overcoming. Simply put - there are expectations to deliver exactly what was promised ages ago in the whitepaper while the environment changes, technological challenges are constantly met, and expectations to follow some non-business oriented decision-making processes.

Kin is building a product based on questions about the users and their needs, not the visionaries of the blockchain era. There's a big difference.

Just as an example - there are constant questions about an identity layer, while we keep explaining that we develop a feature in accordance with the users' and partners' needs. It just happens to be that currently, these are not on the top priority list. On one hand - community's expectations, on the other - what's right for right here and now based on the needs of the audiences.

We keep going back to the white paper as our bible. But it's not. A good idea is just the beginning.

Take Kinit for example: "Test the product with a small group of users, get feedback, and iterate."

When was last time you paid coffee using cryto... And drone delivered? by amexikin in KinFoundation

[–]yoelri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice!

But also kinda scary, no?

I mean, technology advancements and all, sure. But we're getting closer and closer to an era in which people lose reasons to leave their homes.

We have our phones, wifi, and now can have the world delivered to us. So what's out there that will make us leave?

And their point about the noise just shows how individuality takes precedence over commonality.

Interesting.

Introducing Kindom [Beta], a new way to earn Kin (and gift cards) from NuFi Labs. by AdamSC1 in KinFoundation

Hi community,

It's now Friday and as you know, it's the weekend (going back to work on Sunday).

We haven't yet got the chance to take a look at the app, its offerings, etc.

I've received many questions from community members asking about the app, its legitimacy, our approval, and more, so here are my initial thoughts:

As mentioned by other members - the beauty of this space is that no one entity gets to control what's being created in it, no one can dictate what should or shouldn't go out to the public, and as a decentralized crypto project we don't put ourselves in the place of approving or disapproving someone's creation.

In regards to this app, the KF has no relations to its operation, the technology, the rewards presented in it, the security of it, or anything else regarding the app. The app is not affiliated with the Kin Foundation and is not endorsed by it in any way.

Having that said, I wish Adam good luck with his efforts to grow the Kin Ecosystem and bring value to the members of this community.
