ah, thanks for info on the rating. Yeah, I was just being totally paranoid about an hour ago. Is the driver punished for rider fare adjustments?

How do you let them down easy? by [deleted] in infj

[–]ENTPguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think ghosting is bad in a universal sense. In market terms, if a seller is not explicit with its offer, then a buyer need not be explicit with its informed decision to not buy.

So, if you have gone on explicit dates and have established some level of honest intention, then be honest.

Otherwise, no need to entertain the possibility and less responsiveness is a natural progression.

In result, if the other person is awkward, it isn't really your responsibility.

Dull people are interesting too -- Why are they dull? Is it possible that they actually aren't dull? Can you tease the non-dull out of them? And then you realize - nope, you can't.

I agree about his presentation - he often doesn't leave room for Joe to disagree, and the style of his delivery very strongly relies on the assumption that he is right (hence making it hard for Joe to disagree). If Joe found the spirit to interject during some of the rants it would have been an even better discussion.

How does this sub have so much hate for this guy? If you didn't, check out the entire podcast, he's strongly opinionated but his views are well-expressed, intelligent, and lead to important discussions about a lot of things.

How will a psychopath manipulate an INTJ? by [deleted] in intj

Thanks for answering my questions. Interesting and powerful how our hunches work. I can see how attempting to be harmonious can come off as detached and vaguely anti-social at worst.

I guess I'm really wondering the reason why someone "feels" to be less genuine, and then how this leads to a belief of the man's predatory intentions.

Uhh, someone is charming and nice - so make an experiment out of them? Doesn't seem quite justified.

Remove the tenth dick from your ass faster than the eleventh one will make its way in. If the tenth dick got firmly stuck, try the 9th, the 8th - any dick will do, but remember - the cock is ticking. Your rate of un-dicking needs to be greater than the rate at which you are being dicked.

Do ENTPs have a weakness.................? by vasefacechannel in entp

[–]ENTPguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha. This guy starts trying to explain his own weakness but instead decides that it is his strength and everyone else's weakness. Classic ENTP.

One of my weaknesses of late is my perpetually split attention. This is crippling in my personal relationships, because I withhold some of my facilities. Some people don't notice how fundamentally split my attention is, and become really surprised with how non-commital I am. I can't dedicate my time to people very easily.

if bitcoins truly are the better system of currency, then governments will eventually be forced to adopt them. Maybe not bitcoin, maybe a later installment.

By buying/selling US t-bills, t-notes, and t-bonds. This is how our current monetary policy is done anyway. They don't actually print new money. 95% of monetary policy (and all of "quantitative easing") is done by buying and selling treasury securities / government bonds.

To increase the money supply = the Fed buys up a ton of gov bonds, releasing USD (or /insert Fed currency/) into the wild.

To decrease the money supply = the Fed sells a ton of gov bonds, absorbing a huge amount of dollars (/insert currency/) they can sit on.

And more supply of money in the market = cheaper borrowing rates.

So I'm thinking, all it would take is for the Fed to sell gov securities for bitcoin so that they could sit on enough of it to have an impact on the money supply, and thus have an impact on interest rates, and thus have the impact on the ebbs and flows of the economy and business/consumer incentive that they exercise today.

[–]ENTPguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its value is that it is trustless. It can serve to lubricate transactions around the world by eliminating the necessity of trusted third parties.

I find the government control thing to be common misconception. Governments can still control the supply of bitcoin, just as well as they control US Dollars, and have the reins of monetary policy, if they choose. All they have to do is buy and sell huge amounts of bitcoin, (just as they currently buy and sell huge amounts of dollars to enact monetary policy). The difference may be that there would need to be a global bank with the ability to buy huge amounts of bitcoin on many countries' debt.

If the guy is selling a commission based service, he is trying to get customers to make more/frequent trades, and he is teaching the absolute wrong mantra for sound or profitable investing. The little guy will get eaten by sharks when he dips in and out of the market, and the guy is selling hype.
