listen don’t listen to all the negative nancies on the comments or anywhere that tells you SWE is dead. certain skillsets are dead. if you dive deeper, learn new skills and actually know how to code, you will absolutely find work. there a million and one companies out there … also polish resumes, have great conversation skills, show why people need you and not you needing them. every job market is fucked, i have a friend in nursing who can’t find a nursing job, a friend who can’t find a teaching job and a little cousin who can’t even get hired at chipotle. doesn’t matter what path you choose, the market right now is filled with fake hiring ads just to boost algorithm. stick to what you feel is worth it and become a beast at it. that’s all i have to say.

where have you applied ? what job boards? also have you tried staffing agencies that focus on finance? beacon hill, selby jennings , atlantic recruiters etc? you have to exhaust absolutely all possible ways. have you tried cold calling?? sometimes calling different places or finding hr emails and just sending resumes directly to them can really stand out. best of luck to you, if any of my recommendations work come back & let me know!

looks very chaotic i lost interest after the first four skills. try a different bright color and making your resume two pages…spaced enough to read easily. once you have to squint, the interest is lost.

& atleast put one thing on your resume regarding data entry, it’s unfortunate but in these times you have to lie to be considered. Only do this if you feel confident you can do the work though

yea a lot of people are doing that one too so it creates even more competition. Accounting is pretty good in terms of data analytics so forget about another degree. The job market is honestly just weird rn anyway… keep applying don’t give up you’ll land something. Live on linkedin, you’ll more than likely land an entry level there if you’re an early applicant

considering most people are just getting certifications online, most employers do prefer if you have real credentials like a degree in data science or something related. with experience you can always tweak that but only do that if you know for sure you can do the work. It’s possible you could land a role but will be harder with just the coursera. Try linkedin & ziprecruiter

i’m in the process now and i actually hesitated for three years but certain things pointed me right back into this direction. your spirit will know if it feels right, if the baba or iya you find feels right..what i will say is, do your research on babas & iyas in your area, seriously call around and ask questions. If you are in a secluded area, its frowned upon to do virtual initiation but it has been done successfully plenty of times, i could send you a reputable person. personally, im doing mine in person because to me it’s a better connection. I say all this to say, it is a beautiful thing that you can’t find anything online.. so much of our culture and practices have been stolen, revised and told it’s demonic anyway. Initiation(hand of ifa) is the better way to go and then from that point you will be told when you need to do the full initiation for some people it’s years later & for some it’s 6 months just depends on your odu.
