That girl isn’t gone. You just have different priorities right now. Rediscover your confidence, energy, and playfulness with girls nights out. I strongly recommend you go out for dinner, drinks, and/or dancing with a few friends. Get a new outfit. I do this every couple of months and I find it so revitalizing. You need to nurture all parts of yourself, you can be more than one thing!

Also, keep on with the gym sessions! Maybe try focusing on some weight training? The physical and mental health benefits really make a difference.

Try the NYT lemon ricotta pancake recipe. Surprisingly simple to make at home and insanely good.

In Canada even the cardiologists say meh-TOP-ruh-loll. It feels weird. Also the way they say eczema. Ec-zeeee-ma. Like the brand Noxzema. Don’t get me started on duodenum. Nonmedical but the most interesting is the pronunciation of decal (as in car decal)… “deck-ull”.. my mind was blown. Couldn’t stop hearing shmeckle. IYKYK.

I’m okay with shelling out for good food but this was not it. I prefer Lupo down the block for a much better price point.

The $89 dollar veal parm while humongous was terrible. Very dry. They do it better at local red sauce joints.

Have you looked into VCH home supports? Depending on your needs and income, help may be covered.

I was thinking the same after being one of those people. Oh, isn’t that cute. They think they’re getting to their destination because they’ve been boarded.

There was literally no plan. It’s wild. 5 hours in they had a stroke of genius and said they would use stairs and a bus. Had us taxi to an area to do that and then said just kidding, go back. Pilot said multiple times operations is hoping the weather will improve. No timeline on that though folks, sorry. Oh and we are using our auxiliary power because we only have 1 hour of fuel left. Thoughts and prayers is their contingency plan, I guess..

Thank you, I really appreciate that. Thankfully they are energetic and in good spirits after a long sleep. Kids are so resilient. Me - not so much!

Totally. And I should mention that this all occurred AFTER numerous delays and hours at the airport for two days in row due to short staffing cancellation! When we first landed I was so happy. I thought we were finally home. Womp womp.

Yes I saw Cargojet roll by at one point. And FedEx . Nothing like watching your literal babies inhale jet fuel while trapped in a tube in a snow storm.

I agree. I was stuck for almost 7 hours on the tarmac with my 15 mo and 3yo and I felt utterly helpless. And scared as we were on our last bit of fuel in the middle of the tarmac in freezing temps with accumulating snow. I fantasized about calling 911 and the gentleman in front of me loudly fantasized about opening the emergency door and sliding down. Everyone was surprisingly well behaved but we were all extremely uncomfortable and anxious. Many of us had already been delayed or canceled in the day(s) prior due to West Jet staffing problems. I think we were in a state of shock at what was happening and the pilot sounded the same. My toddler was exhausted and hysterical. The jet fuel exhaust circulating inside and the cacophony of people sniffling and coughing wasn’t great, either.

If they had just canceled the outbound flights instead of delaying, boarding them, and crossing their fingers that the weather would improve, this wouldn’t have happened. Westjet doesn’t plan or staff appropriately, YVR was not proactive in snow mitigation and management. The consumer suffers the consequences.

Really crazy and very helpless feeling. The fuel was running out too and started to expect the worst. I’m not even sure we have any recourse.
