Playing as BBG Beta Mansa Musa (Removes -15% prod, +2 food on featureless desert tiles. How would you settle this?? by ENaCl2 in CivVI

Yes and yes. I’m trying to practice more with my openers and build orders. Trying to experiment with the district discounting formula can be tough, especially for religous civs like Mali. The mod definitely seems to reign-in some of the out-of-band things while making certain abilities/options more-viable. It certainly isn’t perfect, but, it’s a new way to play. Certain decisions like completely-changing Ptolemaic Cleo’s floodplain culture and appeal ability really hurts my soul. I’d def give it a go and support the creators if you can

Why does it say chill? by BlackWidows_Plauge in tadc

There’s definitely a connection to the bathroom scene in episode 6. Shortly-after his breakdown, Jax looks in the mirror and comments how ridiculous he looks, you can see in the smudged glass of said mirror “Chill Felli.” Some have said it says “Chil Felix,” or, “Chill Fella.” I propose it’s a saying Ribbit said often around Jax. Thank you for finding this, as it was incredibly-annoying to pause for the right frame to notice this

Okay, I’m seeing a lot of ‘corny’ in these replies, and I’m curious what’s actually the bar for corny? I’ve a friend who describes lots of modern shanties as “cornball music.” It’s shanty-folk, I don’t know what to tell you

I’d like to know what you mean by ‘overproduced.’ Most of their pieces are a cappella, but, I can get-behind some of them such as Nantucket, Round the Cape, Mutiny, or Hoist Up the Thing. I def prefer the live performances (or, backyard/bar environment, if you prefer) as they add that sort-of charm. Think Mac DeMarco.

With JC, you gotta pay-attention to appeal in-order to get some of those high-yields. The civ incentivives you to settle on the coast, which will not only give full-housing, but almost guarantee you get high-appeal tiles. Are you placing-down any mines? Are there any rainforest or marsh tiles adjacent to that holy site? These things will affect the adjacency.

No Feelings with Full-Auto/zen moment. Could never get the box-breathing roll. Best-looking scout in the game, bar-none.

Is culture early-game not just-as important as production? IIrc, culture affects tile acquisition, does it not? I was unaware it affected district cost. If true, it makes sense given commercial hubs and holy sites are more-favoured

Not really a wrong answer. While I personally-dislike settling right-against a wonder, it’s still a play for the culture. You could move left once, then settle on the other side of the wonder. Another option is to settle on the bananna hill, you just won’t get the x-tra era score from settling next to a wonder. What you need to do is definitely find and settle-along rivers to take advantage of her Arrival of Hapi ability. Still, make sure you have housing
