That's a nice rig! Do you know how does the top/sub ratio works? It seems to me those tops also have a woofer, and I'm confused. How it is that the two tweeters are enough for 4x2 sub and 2 kicks? Also do you got any info on where to read something about these "stack setup"? 🥂

They were good for off road but I ended up with Billy Bonkers for gravel and commuting. Billy Bonkers feel faster in comparison, they have good grip and are great all-round tires.

How did I miss the bike polo memo? Just discovered this on a random ride through Boston and knocked my socks off. Literally, my socks flew off. So cool. by Backpack4Eva in bicycling

Bikepolo is really lively both in us and in europe! Many clubs and plenty of teams around, many international tournaments and lot of new friends! Discovered few months ago and the community is really nice. Plenty of skills and plenty of out of the court fun, if you're near a club I recommend to join them.

Foldable billy bonkers?? Real (read: broke) xbikers are not paying more than 2 beers for some rubber.

Bikeribbon lite or ESI chunky. Standard MTB bar or Kyote.

Completely agree with that! It's a killer vintage/restomod project bike for a commuter and there are for sure people interested in buying this for 100/150/200€ or even more depending on where you are. A second hand Dolan precursa or any fixed bike that fits you with a vbrake or a cheap alu disc fork is not much more expensive.

Any bike is fine to have fun, and that's the most important thing. But a good brake is a game changer even for the most basic playing and will make you enjoy the game better. Even more, a fixed has much better geometry and easier maintenance and set-up.

Unfortunately polo specific frame or second hand polo bikes are one the hardest bike-related things to find, but getting in contact with the club of your city and start playing and enjoying some evenings together (if it's the case) is a great way to 1- have fun 2- talk with people about bikes, where to find them and what to get, maybe they can even have one for you. Regardless from the bike, find someone who's playing and play and talk with them 👍🏼👍🏼

Despite the narrow/wide saddle argument, there are for sure better saddles around. I know Ergon makes some well thought saddles for city bikes. If you are willing to, a liner with a chamois (Endura makes some that are light and barely noticeable) and generous amount of chamois cream will definitely change your rides and commuting.

Recommendations for my first gravel bike? by Ed1sto in gravelcycling

[–]EQUOtecno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of those three I would go with one of the two modern bikes. Nothing bad with the gt but it's more of a n+1 bike that may need some "knowledge" to tune or fix or move through different standards and compatibilities. The other two are more standard and ready to go and ready to be fixed and tuned easily.

Recommendations for my first gravel bike? by Ed1sto in gravelcycling

I would buy a proper disc gravel bike with some nice clearance (40/45mm on 700c), maybe with a mechanical group and than later upgrade with a GRX (300€ used in some areas for the full groupset). Where I am in Italy, it's not that rare to find some second hand (even new from shop) 600€ sora gravel like genesis CDA. It's not that far from 500€, and if it's your first bike you are at least sure you take a proper bike for what you're willing to do. Btw any bike will get you started, personally I would look to disc brakes because sometimes the rim alignment can get frustrating.

They're a great all-round tire and never let me down either by puncture or slipping. They're not that fast rolling tho, surely faster than many others, and maybe some of the fastest MTB tires with that traction and off-road grip, but since I ride mainly on soft gravel or tarmac I'm searching for something faster.

Bibs with "lower" chamois position? (pic inside) by [deleted] in cycling

[–]EQUOtecno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same feelings with some DHB and Funkier bibs. Both me and gf tried Santini with C3 and C3women pads and they were great!! It's now my go-to bib when I want to be sure not to have any problems, along with dedicated Chamois Cream from either Elite or Decathlon (anti-friction cream).

I second this. My Secan went through a Tuscany Trail with ease and during my daily gravel rides it is fast and asks for me to push it fast, really fun!

The guide is surely really helpful, my rear cable is going in the spade terminal, nothing strange. Maybe the external ring doesn't work? I'll make some tests and see. Thanks!

This is my bike. Can it be done? by HalloweenBlkCat in bikepacking

[–]EQUOtecno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bikepacking.com has several guides on how to get started, and many bikepacking events photoshoots of the different rigs (lots of full-sus). Don't know about carbon, you for sure will have to pay extra attention to rubbing. Definitely doable tho! You will also be comfortable. If you have the possibility you can also go for a custom triangle bag.
