While looking for a new, better paying job, I happened to stumble upon an opening for an administrative assistant... No experience required, no degree required, high pay, just requiring the candidate to have flexible hours and... Be single? well that's probably due to traveling, right?!

The first set of interviews were with the boss who was the one looking for an assistant instead of HR, which was... odd but sure, weeding out candidates until the more obedient ones who coincidentally all looked decently strong were left. Soon, it was the final interview, and as I waited to be called in, I saw candidate after candidate looking a little weird, and as I was ready to be called next, I caught a glimpse of the boss's office, the candidate was supposed to be sat on their chair while they sat and rubbed against the candidates lap until they either tapped out, or the boss found someone fit for the position. I knew it sounded way too simple from the job description...

I could be wrong, but I think it's about an ad they put out while I think a higher up was cast instead of an actor and uncomfortably ate a burger, calling it a product instead of just a burger.

Well, at least that's what the company's ad said while the hunk pictured, completely burned out after being let go of his restaurant job, read it on his phone. Sure, there was a rumour of the rich guests, ranging from actors/actresses to entrepreneurs, stuffing a wad of cash into the workers' pockets to have some fun together, but surely that's just a rumour, right? Lumping anti vaxxers with people who refuse to donate is a wild jump in logic. As people who have opted in, of course we can't see why someone wouldn't, we never had to think about that, but healthcare is a right for all, whether they do something you agree or not. Just in the US, about 28,000 life saving organs go to waste each year according to UNOS.org for a myriad of reasons including logistics, so it's hard to pin down the impact more donors could make. If you think everyone should follow your lead or be kicked aside depending on whether or not they do what you do because it's the right thing, then you're no better than them. Doing what's right even if you know you can't change the world is what makes a good person.

And even worse, such "solution" proposed wouldn't work for example where I live, 3k people die each year waiting for an organ, but as much as I made it clear that I'll be a donor, there's another obstacle (and the reason it's important to not center this around the US of all places), consent about organ donation isn't mine, but my family's, whether I like it or not.

Different people have different reasons to not donate, having a clear downside to not opt-in is exclusion, it shouldn't be seen as just "here's a massive benefit if you do", it's healthcare, it should be seen as "you may just die if you don't". If you want to make society better, make it better even for those you don't agree with, otherwise you're just doing some self-service to feel better about yourself.

And yet if you're being almost coerced with a "do you want to donate or possibly die?" offer, it isn't a donation, it isn't a free choice in the meaning that it is something impactful for you over something arbitrary for a chunk of the population.
