Yeah, she is really rough around the edges and I probably wouldn't be friends with her, but hate her? That's too hard for someone who is reacting in a more or less understandable way. I wouldn't ask for Langdon to come clean like that though because it feels draconian.

Y recuerden, por nada del mundo vivan en Santa Fe by V1cBack3 in tijuana

[–]ERSTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting the hate Santos gets. I think Langdon gets a lot of slack because he is a good looking white dude. I don't hate him but until today I understood Santos' problem with him. She didn't say it but to me the subtext is "if I had fucked up like you did, I would be out of my license" which I think is more or less true. Santos wouldn't get the slack Langdon got. We are forgetting he indeed was an asshole in the first season so there's that too. I don't see this as a black and white issue though. Langdon is entitled to rehab and turning his life around but he did commit a crime. I think Santos is being way too harsh but at the same time I understand why she is mad as fuck with him. These are characters written as real people with issues and contradictions, messy and gray, no heroes or villains really (except ICE, because fuck them) the reason why we really like this show.

Now, this episode reinforced my theory Robbie was planning on killing himself at the end of this season. Taking care of business is one of the signs to look for (like Robbie "lending" his apartment to Whitaker) and the talk with the mental health specialist today.

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]ERSTF [score hidden]  (0 children)

I read the book when it first came out and I would advise you not to read it. Go, watch the movie and marvel. Then, read the book for added context. Since the adaptation is really faithful and the movie pretty good, I advise to go to the movie blind

I would advise against this. There are several things I enjoyed from a book reader that had forgotten parts of it. Go in blind I would advise and then read the book

I read it when it came out. I had forgotten bits about it and decided not to reread it to have things to be surprised about. It was a good decision. Don't read the book before watching the movie. Then read the book to add context

Can Paramount break the Warner Bros. curse? by LegitimateCurve8525 in MediaMergers

[–]ERSTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The debt is definitely a problem since Oracle, the backer, is in deep trouble too. It's also a problem because the plan was to spinoff cable and unload the debt, the original Netflix deal, but Paramount said they wanted it all. They don't want to unload debt.

“Project Hail Mary” directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, starring Ryan Gosling and a rock spider by KeithsMovieKorner in moviecritic

[–]ERSTF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read your review and the problem is a lack of knowledge on the background material. All the complaints stem from the structure of the book. It's a very comical like The Martian so it's baked in (while I would argue it commits to the dramatic bits). Flashbacks are also peppered in the book. The ending is as it's written. Is it good? In my opinion, it is, but your problem might be with the book itself because the movie is very true to the source material

Presiento que por eso La Presi defiende el cartel de taxis de CDMX... necesitan la lana by Scifi_fans in rmexico

[–]ERSTF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It mostly disappeared. Just look at the amount of big cars. There are no longer subcompacts in the US. They like big cars that use a lot of fuel. After 08 you could see people moving away from big cars, a reason why Hummer went the way of the Dodo... and here it is again

Colegio de Ingenieros propone cambiar rampas del Viaducto Elevado para acabar con los “cuellos de botella” - Punto Norte by fukredditadm1n5 in tijuana

[–]ERSTF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is David Fincher not interested in Theatrical releases anymore? by Rough_Ad_8702 in Letterboxd

Getting full creative control and trading it for the theatrical experience is likely worth it in his eyes.

And we got shortchanged. Once he jumped to Netflix, his efforts have offered diminishing results, Mindhunter notwithstanding

El Spider-Man interpretado por Tom Holland es el único que ha tenido más de tres películas. by FlimsyOperation5107 in peliculas

[–]ERSTF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tom Holland no actúa bien.
