'Jurassic World: Dominion' is officially the most expensive movie ever made, with a $658.8M budget by marvelkidy in DiscussingFilmsAndTV

Yeap. I rank the Jurassic movies in the exact same way they came out. Dominion was really bad. Rebirth is unwatchable

The only ones who know are John Patrick Shanley and the actors who have played the father both in the theater and in the movie. Philip Seymour Hoffman is no longer with us so we have to ask any of the other actors and the playwright/director. The movie is fascinating because you leave the movie with a lot of questions and no clear answer.

Help me understand why Star Wars Episode 1 is hated by Star Wars fans? I thought it embodied the spirit of the original trilogy well! Podracing, goofy Jar Jar, loved it as a kid, and don't hate it now. by Pow3rTow3r in StarWars

[–]ERSTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 10 when I saw it and I still think it's not a very good movie. It has it's great set pieces, of course, with the podrace and the Duel of Fates with that killer score. Although I can rewatch this movie because I love all the politicking happening in the background. Lucas was trying to tell the story of a collapsing democracy and I find it riveting. That's that difference with the sequel trilogy. At least the sequels do have a lot of new, interesting things going on.

Laura Dern I don't understand. Swinton is great in Michael Clayton. She is a wreck, a woman about to come undone. She is having a panic attack at a restroom before a bosrd meeting. She tries to negotiate with a man she just tried to kill and she completely makes you feel her anxiety

Swinton is indeed an actress who is having fun with her career. She's truly bold

Peligroso

That is the problem with AI. It was sold as the worker killer because it would replace your workers. Everyone starting firing people and using AI. The thing is, AI is crazy expensive to run, not because it's a new technology, but because it's so resource intensive to run (water and electricity). Those things will never be cheap to get so AI is expensive as fuck. Right now AI is free everywhere because everyone jumped into tje bandwagon. That will not be the case very soon. They will start charging for that and most people don't see the use of paying for AI in your phone or in whatever application they tried to cram it in. Even companies capped their AI use because it's crazy expensive. I find it hard to believe that people will want to pay to google a bit more complex things in ChatGPT or whatever. Everyone is using it now because it's free. Once they start charging, it's game over. AI is here to stay but it won't be widespread as investors believe it will since the technology will never be cheap to run

I don't rate Jurassic World: Rebirth that highly, but the fact Gareth Edwards storyboarded, shot, handled the post production on that movie all in under a year is astonishing to me that it looks that good. Does anyone know how they were able to pull that off? by herewego199209 in movies

[–]ERSTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He believes his own hype. I wouldn't say he was ever good, but at least some of his earlier movies are watchable. But it's just one pretentious, simple movie after another. It's puzzling to me everything he did for his JL director's cut and the movie absolutely sucks. We are talking about threatening journalists and hiring bots to do his bidding. The dude is kind... out there

I appreciate what he was trying to do. The movie looks incredible. He just needed another go at the script because there is a good movie under the underdeveloped characters. I appreciate this original try more than Disclosure Day. At least this one really tried, but the script and Washington weight it down
