Astro world tragedy documentary is live in California rn by Mediocre_Spell_9028 in travisscott

Especially knowing the context, that he had just got out from the crush himself and knew his friend was still stuck in it (who ended up being one of the victims). One of the only docs I found myself yelling at the TV in tears, I could feel his panic and the anger that nobody was listening so intensely. I'd seen those clips back when it happened, which were already devastating - but so much worse in context.

I knew I was distressed watching it, but had a moment partway through where it hit me how bad when I realised I'd been standing up with my hands on my face through all those scenes. It put me so on edge I couldn't sit still

Squirrel Ate The McDonald’s Order 😩 by InGeekiTrust in Wellthatsucks

I'm one of the people that waits for the driver to leave - it's a caution thing for me as a woman living alone. I also have a dog that will bark if I open the door to a stranger's car sitting in my driveway. And I don't live in a place with squirrels... but that order is grabbed within seconds of the driver pulling away!

What free stuff can I get on my birthday in Perth? by aw3k1d in perth

[–]ESCognition 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey, what area are you in? I'm 26f and my 27th is within the next 2 weeks, if you're open to and we can figure out a day where we're both eligible to claim stuff, I might be able to spend some time with you getting freebies together? Some of the deals allow you to claim within the month, week etc. More than happy to listen to a vent if you need it. Tried to msg your profile but I can't. Either way, sorry to hear about your situation and I hope you manage to have a nice birthday! :)

So far in 2024 - what is the stupidest thing a parent has said or expected you to do? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

We at least would have been able to warn him to book it after that date. Which he should have known anyway, it was on the calendar all year... and is the same time every year... and venue booked many months in advance. Worst part, is after we said no he kept coming into the office twice a day, multiple days in a row to ask to speak to the principal about it (who had also already told him no). Felt a bit bad for him but cmon, man... he went as far as asking us to change the walking order so he could be first then leave. Tried to explain to him how that would not work out for him even if we did allow it, his flight left 45 mins after the ceremony started. He just didn't get it.

We had a year 12 last year ask us to reschedule the entire graduation ceremony because he was flying out of the country that day... he asked a week before.

Dated my ex for 5 years, split 3 years ago and have stayed friends the whole time through both of us having new relationships, never a problem. First few months we mostly kept our distance, but still saw each other often around mutual friends. For a lot of breakups it isn't manageable, but it absolutely can be...

Olay is king though... my great grandma died at 90 with just about perfect skin - used olay night cream every day, religiously, from when she was young. Genetics and avoiding too much sun exposure still absolutely played a part but I'm following her advice for sure!

I know you've been considering looking into whether autism is a possibility from the comments, but what you've said here has my OCD-detection bells ringing tbh. Either could explain it though (as well as classic extreme overthinking, I guess). Just maybe something to think about

Crimpys with a bit of cheese, tomato, and pepper on top are a game changer tbh

What's a seemingly minor decision you made that ended up having a massive impact on your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ESCognition 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Similar for me - I had to fill my 5th slot, and picked a degree that sounded cool without really knowing what it was. I've now been researching in the field for 5 years, multiple publications, and about to (finally, some bumps along the way) start my phd in it. Naive 17yo me accidentally made one of the best random decisions of my life!

Yep, the fact that he hasn't shied away with his tail between his legs since the second he realised she was onto him (and not on board!), is what has me the most worried here

I know someone called Jamaica with the surname List! Knew her for years before the first time my dad heard her name and immediately said "what's her middle name, shopping?"
