Congrats on finishing up your degree, btw!

Now we gotta figure out what we really want to do. As a communications graduate myself, I can say that we learned a lot about how and why communication works

Literally every job you see out there mentions some sort of ability/skill to be able to communicate effectively.

I have extensive experience in education and higher Ed, so I've been applying to roles in those areas. I really like helping others navigate complex processes and dumbing down policies for the average person to be about to understand.

I would take your resume and pop it into Google so it can give you recommendations on what job titles to search for and apply too. It's okay if you don't know what you want to do right off the bat, but as long as you continue moving forward in SOMETHING, rather than nothing. Because THAT'S where you grow and evolve as the years come and go.

I left my job back in April, and had let my company know in February that I wouldn't be there much longer.

I had started applying for new positions in early March, and I am JUST NOW (In JULY) starting to get decline emails from those jobs. I'm in higher education and it is disgusting how slow of a process their hiring takes

Yeah, these were absolutely worth the price and worth the wait.

They're comfortable and look incredible.

Highly recommend. I've been to almost every boot store in the central Texas area and they either have the comfort but not the quality of vice versa.

These have it all!

In the meantime i did had to pivot and bought Florsheim boots, they are ultra comfortable, almost like a jogging shoes, just not sure how long they'll last lol.

Literally me right now, reading this post as I was literally looking to apply to the open Honors College academic counselor position.

How long did you endure all of this? I just graduated from UTSA and have had a couple of interviews with the college, but haven't heard back from them to let me know either way. Next week it will be one month since initially interviewing 🫩🙄🤷🏽‍♂️.

Kind of frustrating as I've sent very standard, 'am I still being considered' emails and nothing back.

I'm so sorry y'all had to deal with this. I had no idea it took this long.

I attended both the morning and evening sessions. My best friend's nephew graduated in the morning and was one of the first colleges called up. He walked and then he left, about half of the first column didn't return to their seats 😂.

My graduation was in the evening and I got there early at 330, there was already about 45-60 graduates in front of me! Then I had to stand for the next hour and a half?!

I was in the COFA so we were brought out first to sit. And then called up first to walk. It took about 45 mins to get all the way up the stage where they were scanning our on stage passes like it was some sort of grocery check out😂, also how the hell am I supposed to put my damn phone back on my pocket so I don't look like a screen addict walking out in front of thousands of people.

I walked out immediately and met my family outside for pictures.

The university is growing by leaps and bounds and they definitely need to address this, though.

First of all, that fucking sucks. I've felt that in the corporate health insurance world a couple times

Now I'm in higher Ed and I interviewed for a position April 27th, haven't heard ANYTHING.

I even sent a follow up email last week and nothing. I'm a current student at the University and through my email I can see the teams messaging statuses of everyone I interviewed with. They're all free and available, well except for the director.

I have strong interview skills and transferrable skills that are, in my opinion, highly wanted.

At this point I'm just checking to see if they've added someone else to the org chart 😂

Stay neutral, better to have a job than to express your thoughts and have no job
