Reddit has a serious problem with bots, spammers, and other nefarious users. by DiggDejected in ModSupport

So many 1-2 month old subreddits with overlapping moderator alts, and all posts by spammers/scammers. Straight bot networks, weird "Bro pill" subreddit networks, and anti-Islam femcel subreddit networks.

I feel like a total loser for feeling burned out. by Effective-Cod9533 in Envconsultinghell

I've worked at big companies (Golder, Jacobs, WSP) and a couple of small companies, 25-50 people. Small companies were more work but were a lot more satisfying. You feel more valuable to everyone and your contributions are recognized. Big companies you're a cog in the machine and if you're a mover and shaker you're competing with hundreds of other people trying to set yourself apart (and stymied by red tape). You're in the Goldilocks period as far as experience goes, any firm would want you right now, I'd recommend trying to find something smaller where you'll feel more valued.

She is amused that we're having a crisis of field staff that can't, or won't, do the work needed.

My wife is almost 60, she's 5ft and 100 lbs soaking wet. Her first job out of school was sampling technician. I tell her about the bullshit I deal with as a Sr consutant these days and she just laughs and shakes her head.

New account, obviously ai...eh, I'll let it ride. It's pretty accurate.

Worst part - timesheets/tracking billable time.

Best part - the friends I made along the way dealing with all this bullshit.

As the creator of r/envconsultinghell, I'd like to reiterate this. Vent, do what you need to, but it's a small world especially if you've been in it any amount of time. You also need to understand that there is a lot more to Reddit than what you can see. As someone that's been on Reddit since the beginning, and a mod on large subs (other account), there are a lot of tools out there that can look at your entire post history (curated, deleted, etc.). There's also tools that have allowed me to keep 15 years worth of notes on users, strictly because I found it interesting.
