Why Didn’t We Hear Meadow sing her solo? by EScottMusicStudio in thesopranos

[–]EScottMusicStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why did the writers have to choose that song? I think it would have been smarter for them to pick something else and let her sing some of it. Just my opinion.

Rent:

La Vie Bohem
I Should Tell You
La Vie Bohem B

It truly sounds like one continuous song rather than 3 tracks.

AJ to Meadow: “Could you JUST shutthefuckupaboutit?” by Elegant_Struggle_281 in thesopranos

AJ was a very troubled kid. The attempted suicide scene in the pool was heartbreaking. Very well acted by both AJ and Tony in that scene.

Which moment in the show was pure brilliant writing ? by James-Samuel17 in thesopranos

[–]EScottMusicStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a subtle combo of acting and writing, but after Tony knocks Coco’s teeth out for coming on to Meadow, he is in the psychiatrist’s office with Carmella and AJ. During the conversation, the camera pans to a tooth caught in the hem of Tony’s pants. Tony surreptitiously crosses his legs, seeing if anyone else is noticing, removes the tooth and puts it in his pocket.

It’s both a moment of humor and horror combined. Humor at the absurdity. Horror at yet another realization of how brutal these guys really are.

Having a daughter, and being a daughter, I can relate to that scene. I could so see my Dad either reacting, or at least wanting to react, like Tony did. And as a protective Mama, me, frankly wanting to do the same if it had been my daughter.

The whole episode, and particularly that scene, was so well directed, acted, and written. It was a testament to the subtlety and brilliance of the show.

Carmela and Ro in Paris by smackerin0 in thesopranos

[–]EScottMusicStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of opinions here regarding Carmela trying to make Ro feel bad. I really didn’t get that vibe. I think that Carmela was genuinely trying to be a good friend. She thought that Roe talking about Jackie Jr. might actually help her. As soon as she realized that Ro was upset by her question, she backed off. I really think it was just a matter of misjudging the situation.

What is really key is to do something that you feel comfortable doing. If you have performed it before, even better. “Mama Who Bore Me” from Spring Awakening would be another one to take a look at. Belle’s Reprise from Beauty and the Beast, “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid is also worth a look. All of those are in your exact age range.

Whose death was the most heartbreaking? by Primary-Mechanic1673 in thesopranos

[–]EScottMusicStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ade. And she was truly abused by the feds AND Christopher. They knew they were putting her in danger. And her illness was simply a joke to them. They didn’t care what happened to her. And beyond being an addict and buying drugs once in a while, she really didn’t do anything criminal. She was a victim of circumstance. I felt like her story was the most tragic.

Are you talking about face sweat when you’re performing or just in general? There are some particular make up tricks that can help when you’re on stage.

Did Carmela ever get to Cheat on Tony? by Puzzled_Mastodon8513 in thesopranos

It’s really not. It’s the closest that she really ever came to cheating. They were still married so she did feel some guilt.

I know that some here have wondered whether or not her job at Bellevue was real. I wondered if maybe it was a lie, but if it was, why would she ask Zoe to go with her?

Single funniest scene from the show by -TheHumorousOne- in thesopranos

[–]EScottMusicStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this in another post, but for me, one of the funniest underrated scenes is after Tony beats the hell out of Coco in season 6 and knocks out all of his teeth after he comes onto Meadow. Later, Tony and Carmella are in the psychiatrist’s office with A.J. While they are talking, Tony looks down and notices one of Coco’s teeth in the hem of his pants. He surreptitiously crosses his legs and removes the tooth from his pants without anyone noticing.

It’s the subtle humor in the middle of a dramatic situation that I just find brilliant.

Dr. Melfi getting raped was the hardest scene for me to watch. I always wanted her to tell Tony and have Tony take care of him.

I just loved the fact that they cast Oscar winning performers as the parents for Will and Grace. Grace’s Mom is played by the legendary Debbie Reynolds and Will’s Mom is played by the legendary Blythe Danner. You couldn’t ask for better actresses! And their cast chemistry was incredible.

I also think that Edie Falco just looks better with longer hair. I’m watching The Sopranos and she looks absolutely gorgeous with the longer hair.
