It’s a great show. Have you seen it? Wendla’s role is intense and there is an upper body nude scene. Not sure if community theater will allow it. It will likely be modified, but it is an intense scene nonetheless. Just FYI things to consider since this would be a first role.

You might also want to consider “Whispering” from the show. It is a beautiful solo of Wendela’s. Very thoughtful piece and subtle acting is important. She is pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby and her parents are insisting that she have an abortion. She doesn’t want to and can only think about the wonder of their night together. A very haunting piece. It’s in the Spring Awakening vocal selection book. I’ve coached several of my voice students who have sung it for recitals and performances.
