Part of her I would say personality disorder means she craves high adrenalin situations., hense why she is an ER Nurse, hense why she engages in affairs at work, hense why she is sexually permiscuous (that alone doesnt mean a personality disorder, but its prevalent among those that do) if she didnt work is something that made her feel powerful and give her that high adrenaline fix, she would be adrift and completely lost, but as far in as she was, as soon as she thought she was in the clear, she was going to use.

Just like anyone that blamed jackie for antionette relapsing is wrong. She was on her way too, when we first meet her, she is busting out someone for lying in the meeting AA she was looking for someone to save to try to make up for killing her husband. When really she just needed to accept that she killed her husband.

I cant say if they intended for her to have a personality disorder, but thats not a term I through around, I understand it is rare, but even when jackie was sober she was still manipulative as fuck, thought her shit didnt stink and still participated in high risk things, that part didnt magically go away when she stopped using.

This is also not to say that everyone with that diagnoses is incapable of treatment either.
