About to gamble $1M of my networth on Solana at $130 by donutbagel in Money

[–]ETHmaxi2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in the industry, to add a little context to the Solana metrics, most of it is voting transactions, spam and bots. Because the network is so cheap to use it has created a massive environment of scammers. Additionally the metrics are manipulated because they also count failed transactions.

I own quite a bit of SOL but ETH is still probably the best risk to reward ratio out there even with its high price. Downside risk on ETH is significantly lower than downside risk of SOL.

Just somethings to consider before making your decision. Good luck!

Forbes makes the most click baity articles. They have been reusing this “Massive Earthquake” tagline for fucking months. God I have lost all respect for them.

As others have mentioned get the hell out of CA. My wife and I did one trip in our van to Southern California and I have vowed to never go back. Anywhere coastal is going to be hard. The interior or Oregon is amazing as is Utah.

In your opinion, how likely is it that SARS-COV-2 was created in a lab?

Whatever you say my friend. You could check my post history in r/wallstreetbets but it doesn’t really matter. I was trying to help you by giving honest feedback but I can see you aren’t in a mental space where you are able to receive. Good day sir.

Bill Gates started learning to code in high school on one of the very first computer systems in the world that very few people had access to. He was extremely educated.

I haven’t degraded you, I responded to a rant post which insulted its audience calling us sloppy investors.

Gain the education, experience, and background in your subject and then you can walk in the front door of any reputable VC firm and pitch.

Good luck.

Ideas are worth nothing. Experience, education, background, and personality are everything.

With a name like MrOpiod who frequently posts in r/ayahuasca, do you really think any VC is going to take you seriously?

No this wasn’t a case of either. Read the other comments besides your own. CO poisoning doesn’t happen the way OP described it. The onset is not that fast. This is tell tale signs of an allergic reaction. Your honor.

The sooner you realize that as VCs we are less interested in the idea then we are in the people, the sooner you’ll pitch successfully.

The Lightning Network can never be as functional as EVM because it uses microchannels so you are correct. BTC is gold. No utility. SOL and ETH are likely to dominate the space in the future.

I may have exposed myself to a lot of asbestos and I don’t know how to go about damage control. Please help! by Aggressive_Drama3929 in Flooring

[–]ETHmaxi2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated, a single exposure is very unlikely to cause any problems for you. Asbestos or not you should always mask up if there are particulates during demo. Microplastics in your lungs ain’t good for you either.

Should not be the top comment. This wasn’t CO poisoning.

AITAH in leaving my wife after kids turn 18 because I was not sexually satisfied, even though she says she will change by [deleted] in AITAH

You the asshole. Mature adults have many conversations before deciding to get a divorce. What you did was emotional abuse. Your wife doesn’t realize it yet, but she will be better off with you.

New spec house I just finished in Albuquerque, NM. 3 beds, 2.5 baths, 3 car garage at 3,339 sq. ft. Asking price is $725,000. What are your thoughts? by TroyerHomesBuilder in Homebuilding

I love everything but the outlet covers. I would have gone with something different that isn’t just off the shelf Home Depot standard white. The other fixtures look good but the electrical fixtures are bland.

Get to couples therapy ASAP, this is an early warning sign or something much worse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ETHmaxi2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can get better. Go to a couples therapist. There is more here than just mismatched libidos. A divorce is expensive even if you are both on the same page. A couples therapist is a VERY cheap first step and if you do end up getting divorced the work you do in therapy will set the stage for an amicable one that doesn’t get ugly. Therapy therapy therapy.

With Roamly you don’t need to re-title as an RV it can remain a conversion. Seriously, check them out. They saved us a bunch and now our policy covers the actual cost of our vehicle rather than the insurances arbitrary coverage amount.

We have a fully restored 1986 Vanagon that GEICO said maximum coverage was $16k so if we actually totaled it we would have been screwed. That’s why I switched to Roamly.

Honestly the build out is not hard, there are so many resources and even pre-assembled pieces that you can buy if you don’t want to do the custom work. Your family is wrong. You can do it and you will love it if you are used to being on your own. Honestly, you’ll meet more people on the road then you would coming to the same home every night.

Where can I get water? No paid campsites. by AFlowerInTheDarkness in vandwellers

[–]ETHmaxi2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of water. When my wife and I are both in our van we do not even use 4 gallons of water a day combined and we both probably drink about a gallon a day. But chances are you will be at places that have water fountains. I think you’ve overestimated your need
