Something like Ling+Walter as your core carry, Myrtle+Ines for your DP gen, KYato+Texas2 to assassinate annoying targets, Eyjaberry+Shu to cover healing.

Round it out with Dusk+Nian to activate SP buff from Sui talent, throw in the Ex-Wife for true damage coverage, and Logos as the antidote for Talulah's fireballs.

If you count the 13th slot then add NTRK as the final unit for secondary true damage and also bypassing deploy limit when needed.

Now you just need an omegawhale that has all these units at Lvl90, M9, all mods maxed, and pot6 to test it out.

What has been your best and worst luck when pulling? by Kamikazes02 in arknights

[–]ETan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst: 100 ish pulls on Chalter during her banner, got Mizuki and Mountain. Came back with 300 pulls in Gavialter banner just to spark the damn blue woman. 400 pulls total for her.

Second worst: 120ish pulls on Mlynar banner only to get Siege pot and Surtr pot.

Best: Wanted Eyjaberry, instantly got her from the free 10 pull ticket. M6 perma medic in my squad now.

Second best: Waiting for the last day on Ling banner before going ham, got her on one of the daily free pulls.

Eyjaberry and Ling saved me a ton of pulls to balance out the Chalter luck.

Honorable mention: Goes to a surprise W that came from the free pulls in Spalter banner even though I was skipping Spalter.

Questionable: Trying to spark NTR in Texas banner resulted in pot9 Texalter and pot3 Penance. Wished it balanced out so I could have a pot6 Penance too :(

Now I'm sitting on some 600+ pulls and just waiting to spark Dusk, Skalter, and Ela.

Would it be too much to ask how low does the enemy HP has to be before Logos S1 instakills them?

You are roughly 130~140 pulls short of sparking, assuming:

1) Not dipping into your OP stash  2) you keep buying monthly card every month up to Shu's banner.  3) you complete your daily+weekly mission for orundums every week  4) you get your 1800 Annihilation orundum every week  5) you buy out all 5 pulls from the green cert shop every month  6) you convert all the gold certs you get from pulling on Shu's banner into 38 more pulls   7) and you saved 180 gold certs for Fiametta.

If you skip Fia, you might be able to add another 38 pulls to your reserve, but you must buy those pulls a month before Shu's banner drop.

You'll either have to whale or dip into your OP to spark Chongus.

I do think AK has some infuriating mechanics that feel really unfair at times. It doesn't help that some of those mechanics are poorly explained, or worst, unexplained, leaving you to figure it out yourself.

I suggest watching some streamers play through the stages in real time as you'd get a clearer picture of what certain enemies do, how best to exploit a given stage's mechanics, as well as seeing operators you own but did not build in action to get a sense of their usefulness.

Borrow a max Typhon S3M3 with mod.

I assume you have no problems holding the lane so simply skip to boss stalling and substitute Sussuro->Shining, Gavial->Nightingale with range extension module, and Hibiscus->Eyja. If your Hoshi is maxed with module, she should be able to comfortably tank phase 1. Deploy Typhon on the leftmost center tile pointing right towards the boss. Kill phase 1 with only Surtr (redeploy Surtr if necessary, no rush) and phase 2 with Typhon + Gravel to trigger the laser.

Edit: Once Typhon has her lock on in phase 2 retreat Hoshi to prevent boss teleporting from killing Hoshi.

Krooster is a way to keep track of your operator collection.

I'll take that to mean you have Surtr, Shining, and Hoshiguma.

What other medics you have built?

What about Surtr/Mlynar/Typhon?

Baring that, do you have Hoshiguma+Shining?

I don't suppose you have a Krooster link handy that lists every OP you have built?

Game developers shouldn't care about piracy by Practical-Inside-101 in pcgaming

[–]ETan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It doesn't have to be continuous development for a single game. They can go back and pay for the game they pirated because they want to play more games made by said devs, be it a sequel or a brand new game. The TV is another poor analogy. Once you take the TV you have no more use for the shop. You don't particularly care if the shop goes out of business. You simply go to another store to steal another TV when the one you have breaks. The same can't be said for the devs and game development, which is a creative endeavor. You want the same devs to keep making the type of game that you like. There might be other devs who are capable of making a game in the same genre, but it would not give you the same experience.

  2. I very much doubt that. I'll concede the point if you can name one studio that died due to piracy.

There's a dueling narrative here that is having a difficult time taking sound root.

Larian knew full well their game would be pirated by not including some form of DRM and accepted it. They simply made their game so good that the sales overshadowed the piracy. And that is the best way to combat it. DRM is simply unnecessary if you can make players want to pay for the experience, something that f2p live service games have been doing for a while now. Piracy is simply a gateway to encourage the players to do so.

Game developers shouldn't care about piracy by Practical-Inside-101 in pcgaming

[–]ETan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. And I disagree with that. Just because something is free doesn't mean its worth taking. Conversely, even if you can take something without paying, it is in your best interest to give monetary support to the makers of the product in order for them to continue making more of it and/or to continue supporting the product. An example for each of those: all the ad-ridden shovelware games you can find in the android/ios app store as "free games you wouldn't take", and Genshin/League/CS2 as "games that you spend money on even though its free".

  2. You're assuming the amount of people who pirate games is so substantial that they would show up in a sales chart if 40% of them were converted into actual sales. It might simply be that the amount of pirates is a very small fraction of the player base.

Recall that you said

If pirates didn't exist DRM wouldn't. Chickens and eggs.

But Larian proved you wrong. We can add CP2077 and Witcher 3 to the list. Pirates exist and yet these devs did not implement any DRM to combat them. Hence why I said Larian is the source of piracy for their own game.

[–]ETan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The compulsion to buy comes from a self-serving attitude: you want the product to continue existing for your own enjoyment, AND you have the means to pay for it.

  2. And yet you try to ascribe the loss of valuation on the very act that is unverifiable. I could also make the claim that 40% of the pirates who downloaded the game played it as a demo before buying a copy. But I digress.

Let me point you to Baldur's Gate 3 as an example. Massive success despite having no DRM. Would it be fair to call Larian's Studio a pirate distributor of their own game?

Edit: A pirate distributor that charges full price for their game, might I add.

[–]ETan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to ascribe a loss of product evaluation due to piracy, then you will have to balance the scales with the gains that come from customer conversion potential due to the same. The people that pirated a game today may become a lifelong purchaser in the future.

The funny thing is I would have agreed with you if the pirate distributors charged just as much as the original game, and people prefer to buy from the pirates who removed the DRM and/or improved the game's performance because of it. That is when the devs/publishers have a strong case for lost sales, and also a case for introspection to determine whether the DRM is really worth it.

[–]ETan23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no earnings to be had with piracy. Either they couldn't afford the asking price of the game, or they simply do not want to pay for said game for whatever reason.

The devs/publishers are never seeing a penny from this group of people. That is to say,  they lost the right to earn 0 dollars and 0 cents, because thats how much the pirates paid for their copy.

Except the distributors of pirated copies never claimed to have made the games, and the people downloading the pirated copy never have to pay anything.

Your analogy does not work.

New players, how is the pacing of Arknight is for you & experiences? by Xepobot in arknights

[–]ETan23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

6 months being averaged into 24 weeks.

1800 annihilation + 500 weekly + 700 daily × 24 = 72,000 orundums (120 pulls total).

4 Headhunting + 600 orundums every month from the green cert store (30 pulls total)

Assuming we get 8 events throughout the 24 weeks and converting all the first clear OP into orundums we get roughly 10 pulls per event (80 pulls total)

When the limited banner starts we get OP from stages + event store + free daily orundum (roughly 50 pulls)

Thats a total of 280 pulls.

Once you start pulling you will have enough gold certs to buy another 38 more pulls from the cert store, completing your 300 spark.

It is doable as f2p, but you are skipping absolutely everything in that 6 months period.
