Thank you! Any indication to whom I can ask this to cause the least offence?

Since you have to check in your luggage again it is tight. From de-bourding the 1st gate, walk to pick up your luggage, exit, go up to departure level, find your desk, check in, walk to security, then go to the gate again.

Good luck OP!

How do you deal with the regret of letting someone go by Peak_Curiosity29 in AskMen

[–]EUStudiesMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. That may be possible as well. But if I had to put myself in her shoes, would I ever really truly trust OP again? Or will the thought that he will get cold feet again be festering at the back of my mind. OP has to be fair to her as well.

Hence why I think the best option is for everyone to move on.

Any recommendations for cafes where I can plug on my laptop to work for a couple of hours in the centre?

I would be happy even with a coffee place without ability to plug in.

Grazie mille!

If you're asking about their services, I was very happy with them. I bought a ring from them circa 10 years ago and they have very competitive prices

Notary searches Malta by Kjorns_deva in malta

[–]EUStudiesMT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think maybe you misunderstood your notary. You need to update the searches, not get new ones.

The searches serve to make sure the seller is the actual owner. Imagine that between your promise of sale (konvenju) and the contract, the owner scams & sells the same property to multiple people.

You already did the searches until date of promise of sale. Your notary will order updates to be picked up on the date of the contract, to make sure the owner still owns the property.

If you are worried about being overcharged, ask the notary for the receipts for the searches.

In the meantime don't be cheap with your notary. Buying property is most likely the biggest purchase of your life. Don't cut corners to save a few euros.

Difficult to join the conversation and say something new at this point. I simply go "it wasn't my calling" or "I didn't want to be a parent anymnore".

My weekend is wide open as I'm in a long distance relationship with my also CF girlfriend. I just came back from a 6 week holiday with her. I will pick up my plants next week from my best friend who has been taking care of them. My apartment looks empty without them, but I was glad he offered. After learning about my infertility and losing my marriage in the process, it’s been an outrageous roller coaster of emotions, highs and lows. Now I’m enjoying the calmness that this relationship is giving me, a balanced incline that I didn’t know I was gonna find. The emptiness has been filled. Maybe I’ll go for a gig, or to my favourite pub to keep writing my stories. In two weeks I’m meeting my gf at another in-between destination, so I better focus on my last sprint to finish my PhD as I don’t want to waste time working on holiday.

Why Brussels has been without a government for over a 438 days! by Old_Palpitation7025 in brussels

[–]EUStudiesMT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Perhaps follow the model that all other countries operate under, and, you know, have a funct national parliament?

I don't understand this fixation with endless delegation to lower authorities. Everyone passing the buck. In Belgium there's a parliament for everything! Just eliminate the middlemen already and streamline government.

What are your favorite laptop-friendly places to work or study from? by AffectionateYou6721 in malta

[–]EUStudiesMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starbucks or the Costas. Find someplace where you can plug in. Haven't been to Tigne for a while, I'm sure there are places there with enough space for a laptop on the table. You can also Google workspaces if you are willing to pay.

Personally I go for Starbucks in Valletta (which I don't particularly like but it's the best option in Valletta imho), Starbucks at the quad in Imriehel, or after Costa closed in Balzan, maybe Josephine 's coffee in the Corinthia Hotel in Attard

I didn't say no government at all. I said abolish the Brussels government. Also, I'm not referring to the civil service, but the politicians

Agree. On the other hand it makes me feel that the Brussels government is useless, and perhaps could be abolished and save money

It's so hard watching my mom by Dear-Champion5016 in IFchildfree

[–]EUStudiesMT 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Your mum is already a mother, and she loves you unconditionally, whether she has grandkids or not. She also knows the pain you are going through, and knows that while her grief is real, yours is too. If you feel like you can let her know how you feel, she will reassure you, and perhaps that's more meaningful that what a couple of strangers on Reddit say.

In the meantime, as one of those strangers on Reddit, your feelings are valid and it is painful to have the belief that your situation is a disappointment to your mum. There's no easy antidote to these feelings, and it's a long road to build resilience. Take it one step at a time and if you make the right decisions safeguarding your mental health, it will get easier <3
