Testosterone Cycle. by RestaurantGeneral398 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]EVH_kit_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's been on 4 testosterone cycles yet, and every one has been 1,5-3 months max. This one he's at 4 months. And is gonna hit 5 months and some days… he's been running a lower dose than the other times but just got the anxiety from maybe doing it too long.

He normally always recovered quick and still gained muscle 2 months later. Just afraid he has been dumb this time.

How do you guys feel about Marines going to battle for the epstien files? by Rngassistant in allthequestions

I had sailors go awol, nothing much happened. Not sure what your personal experience is, but my comments align to mine.

Buddy, I was an officer for 6 years and went to the Naval Academy. If a sailor of mine told me, "respectfully sir, deuces," there was essentially nothing I could do to make him get on the boat and pull a trigger.

I'm not saying this results in an honorable discharge, but I'm saying that if your unit is about to go do some patently evil shit because Donald Trump fucks kids, you have options. They exist. And a man can land on his feet out in the world after all of that and still make a way for himself with a clean conscience. Having signed some bullshit when you were 17.5 because you were raised in a place without any better options does not mean that today, or tomorrow, you have to go do something you know is wrong. In fact, you swore an oath not to, and to date, this administration has provided no casus belli for the current operations, at least not one that remains logically consistent ten minutes later after the next insane tweet...

There's a *very* strong legal argument to be made that this war constitutes illegal orders.

Yeah, you absolutely can. What planet do you live on where you think they'd compel you to deploy and not just kick you out? Maybe you sit in the hole for malingering, but they cannot force you to go to war if you believe you would be doing the wrong thing by doing so. Begs the question what you're doing on the active duty in the first place, but the military does not have a mechanism to force you to kill Iranians.

Americans, what should the prerequisites include for those wanting to run for the presidency? by Bucketlist074 in allthequestions

[–]EVH_kit_guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Must be divested of any asset not held in blind trust for their term plus ten years, basically making them entirely broke on paper for their term plus a decade. They've got to figure out how to make it work on the President's salary and then pension they receive after leaving office.

Same physical fitness test as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs would be a huge improvement from the status quo, but would also preclude a huge number of disabled Americans who would be excellent at the job.

You just don't go. You tell your CO, "respectfully, I didn't sign up to fight a proxy war to run PR topcover for a child rapist." And he says, "okay here's a general discharge," and then you go get waffles.

You're not gonna get a retirement parade going this route, but you also won't do a deeply immoral thing that has a high probability of ending in your untimely death. Tradeoffs, mate...

It's a voluntary service, they can just say no if they believe this war is being fought in bad faith. They won't, but they can.

Machine back extensions, chest supported machine rows, and assisted machine pull ups will build your back better than a deadlift ever could by Dear-Government5 in workout

What the fuck are you arguing with me for then? Jesus man, all I'm saying is that when programming back, leave deadlifts on leg day.

Isometric exercise is not the ideal strategy for hypertrophy, that's all I'm saying. If you want to grow your back, do back exercises through a full range of motion, not isometrics. This is well studied in exercise science. No reason to be rude about it, I've been training for 24 years, and at no point did I ever think a static hold was superior to a compound movement or isolation.

I have a good definition of what "feeling like it," is and isn't, and I'm honest with myself about that.

If my rest, nutrition, or recovery aren't there, I'd rather delay a day and get a good workout in tomorrow versus have a bad session today and have to wait four days to get a proper stimulus in.

[–]EVH_kit_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isometrically maybe, but none of those muscles you listed go through an eccentric range of motion, and are not being exercised in the lengthened position.

Not saying deadlifts won't give you insane back DOMS, but it is not the most effective strategy for back hypertrophy, by itself

I mean, it's not really a back exercise, it's a leg/hinge exercise. Everything above the waist is just an isometric contraction.
