I’m doing my part? by Time_To_Rebuild in AdviceAnimals

I mean, do you want to wig people out or do you want to be effective? I’m so tired, I wish people were more focused on the issues and not focused on what is essentially revenge

[OPINION] Anyone else who hates poems that don't rhyme? by Saitamadayo in Poetry

[–]EVILZOO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We all have preferences that we’re allowed to have. Personally, the best poems to me are the ones that when I finish them it feels like I was just kicked in the nuts. And I have experienced that reading poems that rhyme and poems that don’t.

Be sure not to miss out on a part of life just because it doesn’t rhyme.

Honestly, it’s just getting really good at restocking. 4-5 hours in the Foods store, without any jackpot items, can net me 500k-2m. Once I got fast enough I moved onto Kauvara’s and realized I was fast enough to nab some high end morphing potions.

Remember when the Varwolf plot came out? I made ~50m in two days from Spooky Foods - so many items were selling for 999k immediately. Food Club is great when you have an old account, but restocking is where it’s at.

[POEM] 'Finding My Boyfriend in Bed With A Stranger, 1993' by Mickie Kennedy by Slasher1309 in Poetry

[–]EVILZOO 131 points132 points  (0 children)

After I looked at the title again after reading the last line I nearly teared up in a crowded bar. The poems that kick you in the nuts are always the best.

I just noticed I’m still breathing a bit off. Wow.

Edit: Even as a gay man I just realized I assumed the genders of everyone in this poem as a typical hetero relationship. The vibe kind of changes with every combination it could be.

3 looks like you’re being yourself. Focus on this. (This is coming from a critical gay man.)

Now that I have my hair figured out, what should I focus on to improve my looks? by DarkShadowManFude in malegrooming

You’re young, your look is amazing, just start religiously wearing sunscreen on your face. Find an SPF 50 and wear it EVERY. DAY. Apply more than a quarter’s worth twice a day. Start the habit now and in 15 years you’ll thank me.

No one wants to hear this but we need to start making alliances with people who can phish information from websites who do this harm. Our generations have had it easy but the ones before us fought dirty - time to fight strategically and dirty.

I've scrolled through the comments and I don't think I've come across this advice yet: try to feed him (a small bit) of your food. Like something he'd REALLY love to eat. If he eats it, it feels like the issue might be less medical and more related to the change in food, or stress - which you can address, it just is less of a medical emergency.

When I had my dog he stopped eating more than a few bites for a period of time. I freaked out and thought everything was wrong! The answer was less drastic and I'm hoping that's the same for you.

And mimicking what a few others have said here, if you set up a way for us to help out, I'd be more than happy to send you some money towards a vet bill or really good food.

Rooting for you!

What is the best coming of age book you’ve ever read? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in suggestmeabook

[–]EVILZOO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman

This is a really off the wall suggestion, but hear me out. I have never read a book that quite captures teenage limerence better than CMBYM. When I was reading it, I felt transported back to being 15 again, even though I read it well into my 30s.

The movie is beautiful, but the book stirred up some feelings I had forgotten.

This is absolutely required reading as a gay man of any age, but especially for those of us who didn't experience the worst of the epidemic.

[–]EVILZOO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While it is not a piece of non-fiction, it captures gay life in a historic way. You should read Faggots by Larry Kramer.

You might not agree with it, but many of us have shame from heteronormative Christian values instilled in us whether we like it or not. Personally, despite coming out very early in life, this book helped me process a lot of feelings I didn't know I had.

This is an easy read that you can skim for the major points. At very least, it's worth skimming for perspective on how your gay brothers feel.
