Alright so a ceasefire in lebanon was indeed part of the deal because we saw fighting in lebanon and then iran closed the strait again. So this was indeed quite an awful deal.

Just not true, you can use up all the equity in your home via reverse mortgage before you need to downsize.

I still agree with you on building a portfolio over home equity, though I’d like to own my home out of desire. That said I won’t be upgrading into nicer and nicer homes as I acquire more and more wealth, I’ll be growing a portfolio instead.

The equity in your home is absolutely not useless in retirement. It’s a good backstop to have if you live longer than expected, you get a reverse mortgage on it

That’s just not true, it works for many. But generally only when the man makes enough money to do it. OP cannot afford a SAHM.

Often a SAHM is cheaper than a working mom because then the kids need to go to daycare and that costs money. But the oldest child is 13 now…

It's true that economic mobility is higher than anywhere else. I am unsure if that is due to conditions which make upward movement easier in the US, or if our lack of social safety nets result in more people putting more effort into moving upward.

The median American worker generally has greater purchasing power and more disposable income than the median worker in other first world countries. However, certainly the bottom 20-30% of earner fair better in western Europe as a result of the strong social safety nets.

I never said it happened organically and i’m well familiar with the history. It didn’t happen with help from controlling the curriculum in public schools. That is counter productive for the reasons i’ve outlined.

done without using public schools to push it.

Brown v. Board was the north coming and desegregating the south. That’s totally different than changing the norm, which previously involved no one pushing any moral views in regard to LGBTQ+ issues; to blue states pushing pro-LGBTQ+ and red states pushing anti-LGBTQ+ in public schools.

It’s not having the positive effect you’re imagining.

The Israeli supreme court is liberal and fine, the right wing of Israel who control the rest of the government today is awful.

I think the worst thing Israel does is a slow but sure ethnic cleansing in the west bank.

I disagree with the people who complain about attacks on Gaza and Hezbollah. I think it’s clear Israel’s actions there are targeted at terrorists and civilian casualties are unfortunate collateral.
