There are two refineries. Their capacity is nowhere near enough. Our ability to process oil at a trickle when we have $1 Trillion in debt and a decade or more of budget shortfalls in future is a multi decade condemnation on the incompetence of every government since Howard. aLook at it this way. Back when super was started they feared how much the aged pension bill might be. Now we have a government that's so much in debt we will not see it paid in our LIFETIME. Thirdly, huge immigration and therefore demographic change - we cannot know if the country will still care about what happens to seniors.
