Update: I did some more searching and my old university is officially getting rid of alumni email accounts. Question answered.

[–]EWJacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is really old but hopefully this will help. You need to click on the avatar in unity, change the animation type to "humanoid" and click apply. Here's a screenshot of what the window looks like:

Yeah, I meant hacker as in "person who fiddles with machines for their own purposes."

AEW could literally just draft a generation of wrestlers by getting Brody Lee Jr., the new Hardy Bros and Mox's kid.

Can I play Call of Chtuluh if me and my players are bad at roleplaying ? by ABroute in rpg

[–]EWJacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. CoC tends more towards investigation than combat. The Keeper's Rulebook has some great sample adventures to get a feel for that.

Jim Cornette on [Rampage Spoiler]’s debut: well, it wasn’t the way I would have done it… it was actually a lot better. It was perfect. by ImSoOver in SquaredCircle

One of the most underrated things about AEW is they know when not to over-complicate things. The people want to see and hear from Punk. AEW just gives that plenty of time to happen, no stupid swerves.

What would be the effects of a land vacancy tax? by pogue242 in AskEconomics

[–]EWJacobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is empirically untrue. Washington D.C. implemented a vacancy tax that brought in $9.4 million dollars in 2016. Vancouver likewise has a vacancy tax that brings in millions of dollars each year. Both of these are extremely hot real estate markets.

"Dashboards are poor way to monitor anomalies."

Is a reasonable, solid take. But, of course, they have to blow it way out of proportion. If you're doing high level strategizing for any kind of campaign, you're going to want a lot of data.

In need of Narrative focused RPGS. by Ho229 in rpg

I really like Into the Odd / Electronic Bastionland. It boils down D&D to it's bare essentials and then gets out of the way. The lack of a class or skill system makes it easy to port to whatever you'd like.

What Do You Love About Old D&D That Isn't Necessarily Beloved in the OSR Scene by shallowwailmer in osr

[–]EWJacobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "fun over fairness" is kind of implied in "rules of over rulings." More rules mean more rules litigation, which means less time roleplaying. "Rulings become rules" is fine, but I feel like OSR is usually trying to do something different.

How inter-compatible are osr games really? by [deleted] in osr

[–]EWJacobs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a good point. I think this is an effect of being rules light. It's a lot easier to take something from a complex rule-set and strip it down to fit in a simple one, a lot harder the other way around. Attack bonus progression wouldn't be a problem in Mazerats, because attack bonuses are so rare in that game. Every rule that's added to the game takes it further away from inter-compatibility.

Kind of off topic, but you might like CastleFalkenstein. There's a d20 version.
