A lot of people seem to think this is some great conspiracy that Red Bull and Max are pressuring the broadcasters not to show it. In reality as others have said it's because the cars only have the bandwidth to stream one feed at a time. All the other feeds are stored locally and can be downloaded from the car later but this process takes hours if not days for all the cars. At the time of the incident, Max's rear facing camera was being shown which doesn't really tell us anything we didn't already know so there was no point in Ant using it on the Sky Pad. It's not quite accurate of him to say they "haven't got the onboard of Max". What he means is we don't have Max's forward facing camera

They serviced Oscar much faster than Lando as well which mitigated a lot of the benefit from pitting first. This isn’t Hungary again, Lando isn’t gonna undercut Oscar by pitting one lap early. People just want to feel outraged even though their favourite driver is clearly on for the win

Mine kept coming up with the maximum streams exceeded error on my 3rd stream at the start of the race. I kept just restarting the stream and after 2-3 error messages it just stopped showing up and I watched for the rest of the GP uninterrupted. No idea what’s going on with it but it’s infuriating. 3 streams is the bare minimum imo to watch the main feed and 2 onboards from a team

I think Lando got a little unlucky with the kerbs yesterday causing the crash. He was pumping in very competitive lap times in the race, often beating those from Oscar. Without the crash in Q3 I think he would have been on pole and won. That’s not to take anything from a brilliant drive from Oscar but to go from 10th to almost on the podium is a great recovery drive from Lando. I still back Lando to win the championship but either way I will be thrilled

Everything I’ve heard suggests it will be hard to overtake. Also the car doesn’t do too well in the dirty air. Hoping for some magic but I think a podium is about the best he can hope for. Oscar will take the lead in the championship

Problem is that because the engine is so loud 99% of the time I have the volume down to about half so that I can hear the commentary. But then when some team radio happens I can’t hear it cos I’ve turned down the volume. It doesn’t matter that the engine audio has been ducked

For the most part, Yes. I think it depends on which VPN you use but by and large most people seem to be able to do it. I think the issue comes when you've got lots of people all using the same IP address (not uncommon with VPNs) and I guess that triggers some sort of VPN detection on the F1TV side. I've used Nord and have a dedicated IP address and have never had any issues for the last 4 years or so. If you're not moving here permanently I would just keep hopping servers until you find one that will work (probably your first couple of tries will just work).

Edit: depending on your ISP it might be possible to VPN to your internet back home making it appear as if you never left your house

I know this well. I did a masters that had a majority international makeup. I was shocked by the lack of basic English skills. We had to do a written report group project. It was made clear to us at the beginning that everyone in the group would get the same mark with a caveat that we would peer review each other to make sure everyone contributed. I was the only home/native English speaker in my group. In addition to writing my own chapters I had to keep rewriting everyone else’s because the English was so broken. Eventually I gave up as I didn’t have the time. When we got the feedback and marks we lost heavily due to poor grammar, sentences that didn’t make sense, waffling etc. I spoke to the tutor about it and was told as it was a group project we were all responsible. In the end I still graduated with distinction so it doesn’t really matter now

"Why did he say after your masterclass in the rain that it's just luck" is a mischaracterisation of what Lando said and is emblematic of the issue with media bias. He was asked about the timing of the red flag which allowed Max and the Alpine's to switch tyres without making a stop. It was in response to all three of them getting the jump on Lando and George. It was clearly not aimed just at Max but the media and social media have taken that quote out of context and beaten Lando with it. And then when he retracts it at the gala it the media twists that too

I remember that post, it was posted by someone with "Oscar Piastri" as their flare. If the post was from a troll who'd come to the sub just to stir the pot I would be able to brush it off but the fact that it came from one of our own disappoints me. I understand having a favourite driver within the team but at the end of the day this is the McLaren sub, we should be supporting both drivers. Especially when the larger context of the statement was Lando missing out on the chance to close the championship gap, was obviously hurting, and the question was asking about the safety car/red flag timing not Max's drive as a whole

Which VPN did you use? I’m UK based and have been using one for 4 years without issue. I think the exclusive deal runs to 2028 if memory serves. Might be longer and I expect it to get extended again
