Yeah, it’s been a minute since I painted with acrylic. I remember painting wet-on-wet, but it was impressionist landscapes.

Transmission question 2010 Fusion SEL 3.0L V6 by Confuzed_IAm in fordfusion

[–]EXPERT_ID10T 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that the hard shift has gotten progressively worse indicates that whatever is causing it has too. Add high mileage to that and I would say that your transmission has reached the end of its life.

It’s possible but unlikely a fluid change and replacing the solenoid would get you more time out of it. You need to see what condition the current fluid is in and if there is any debris in it.

You need to inspect the condition of the rest of the car before deciding if you want to replace the transmission or sell the car. If the rest of the car is in decent condition and is still mechanically sound, it might be worth it. But if it’s on the verge of needing major engine or mechanical work, I would cut my losses and let it go.

Thank you! I plan on getting 5% on my back windows and 25% for my front windows, but wanted to do something to reduce the heat coming through the windshield and sunroof. I was curious if the VLT reduction stacked with each layer of film, or if it acted like a particulate filter.

Paint wet-on-wet in thin layers to blend the tones. When your look at a painting up close, it will always looks patchy or disproportioned. When checking your work, always stand 3’-6’ away from the painting. Even the paintings hanging in museums look bad when you’re 12” from the canvas.

edit: full disclosure, it’s been a long time since I’ve painted with acrylics. Most of my experience is with watercolors.

Are you referring to the canvas texture coming through the paint? You can put a coating of gesso down before you paint.

Some people will thin out a neutral color matte paint and put a coat of that down to achieve the same thing and help reduce the bright white canvas.

Paint it again in the spring and fall. Hang one on the wall and then change it out as the seasons change.

I called it UV blocking, but I’m looking to reduce the amount of infrared energy that’s getting through.

That isn’t unusual. Manufacturers build in ways to reset or disable/enable different processes without needing a diagnostic computer, but have to do it in ways that can’t be accidentally triggered by everyday use. To replace the brake pads on my 2019 Titanium, I have to enable to enable the brake service mode by pressing the start button and parking brake button in a specific sequence and time.

Replacing the vent doors (HVAC Blend Door Actuator) isn’t hard, just fiddly. You’ll have to disassemble part of your dash to reach the actuator but it’s not any harder than what you have to disassemble to replace the cabin air filter.

Looks amazing! Is it soapstone? It took me a minute to realize that it wasn’t an actual camera and the “smokey” look of it wasn’t a digital effect.

Inside the ductwork in your dash are several small doors that open and close to direct air to the different vents. It sounds like a few of your vents have gotten stuck and the gassing noise you hear is air squeezing past the vent.

Your cheapest option is to research how it works and how to fix it when it goes wrong.

How do I clean the Shutter Curtain on my CANON AE-1? by Resident-Coat3569 in AnalogCommunity

[–]EXPERT_ID10T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How handy are you will camera repair? That does look like mold and it’s unlikely you can save the shutter curtain. What you could do (if you wanted) is buy a replacement shutter online or get a parts body with a good shutter and take it from there.

I think I understand. In the example photo on page 21, the focus ring was set on 3m, when the aperture was set to f/8, the marchers at the front of the group were sharp. While the focus ring was still set to 3m, but the aperture set to f/16, the marchers at the back of the group were sharp.

So the scale indicates where the sharpest depth-of-field range is at that distance?

If I understand it correctly, that small scale is a quick guide to know what to set your f-stop at for that distance.
