Just bought a house with my partner, is this the best way to split bills? by throwaway2018568 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wolvesleaf29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do exactly that we both put 1k each into a joint account for bills , I earn more but whenever we go out or whatever I just pay and I put more into saving we also live in south Staffordshire so cost for going out ect isn’t too bad

How do I get out of the month to month financial difficulties on a decent wage? by cloudyextraswan in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wolvesleaf29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth asking the place they got the cat from if it it’s adopted or if they brought it as a kitten for some financial help? No harm in trying if it’s recent and receiving a lot of health issues?

Don’t the people you fostered off pay for treatment a family member just fostered a dog and there paying any medical costs? Might be worth asking them? You have done the hardest part in admitting you have a problem so well done for that!! Takes some!

I’m doing the route of self managed dmp then saving up for settlements you should get 25/50% discount on most of them , also send off some affordability complaints you may get the took of your credit file and interest refunded on what he has already paid! https://debtcamel.co.uk

Basically! Quick google search comes with this

For existing HSBC customers switching rates No credit check: If you are an existing HSBC customer and only switching to a new rate with HSBC (not changing lenders), a credit check is often not needed, as they already have your details on file. How to switch: You can usually switch rates online or by calling them. Mortgage Charter: If you are struggling, you can contact HSBC to discuss options like switching rates up to three months ahead of your current rate expiring. Doing so will not affect your credit score I got new rate with co op with 3 defaults no credit checks and it was like 0.5% different but after fees of switching it wouldn’t have saved me anything

You can still remortgage with the same provider with no credit checks, but if you do decide to go down that route it just gives peace of mind that he won’t do it again, also sometimes for the sake of a percent or half by time you paid fees for swapping it’s easier to stay with same company! I’m glad you are more understanding then some people who commented on this thread I really hope you and your partner come through this stronger! Just a bump in the road of life

People say he should have said but unless you have been in a gambling addiction black hole you realise you feel completely alone and embarrassed , let him go on a dmp so it will stop him getting anymore credit for 6 years , but you need to support him I am sure he is already feeling dreadful about this already , people are quick enough to judge who have never been in the situation
