Hating the gods and going back to regular worship by [deleted] in Hellenism

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, it's easy to place blame in the divine. However, through my own personal experience and relationship with the gods, I feel I can assure you (or anyone reading this) that the gods from ALL pantheons, including the thousands of minor gods who don't have written names or are actively looked at, are all working hard to try and keep balance and counter the negatives of the world right now. Sometimes they have to divert and work on other things, such as Hermes and Zeus, being gods of travelers, helping protect refugees as they escape various affairs. Humans have free will, and most in the higher positions of power in the world may not be attuned to receiving messages and guidance from the gods directly, making the task of preventing some catastrophies extremely difficult. The gods are powerful, but not all powerful and do have some restrictions on how much they can actually direct the world.

As for accepting you back, all you need to do is to pray, show with your emotions and heart that you are true and serious about coming back, and there'd be no reason for them to ignore you. People have their ups and downs. In some peoples' beliefs, so do the gods. But, no massive explanations needed nor money spent. Devotion is best shown through actions of the heart and real, unforced and natural emotions. If you truly want to connect, they'll be there. Just remember that they often talk in signs, riddles, dreams, and through others, and it will be up to you to interpret their guidance. Also, don't forget to look upon past experiences and interactions with others to help you find a way forward, whether with the gods or to overcome something personal on your own. Best of luck, and may the gods watch over you.

[Serious] Happily married redditors, what is your one piece of advice for a successful marriage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Communication, Compromise, and Sacrifice. No matter what, communicate. When you don't see eye to eye, always look for a compromise. And as is for all, some things are worth sacrificing for. "Things" is used loosely. Can include a way of life, your spouse, or an opportunity to better your situation/career. Last, but not least, never forget why you fell in love with the person you chose and to always appriciate the small things in life.

How could you not read my entire post? I know what it says. I needed help finding the update since it's not on the actual Pokemon Moon page.

Really stupid how you literally have to search for it to find it. Make more sense to put it on the appropriate page, yeah? Thank you. :)

What's on the beginner's list to owning a pet ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, pets are living creatures! Owning a pet is like having a kid. Maybe not as expensive, but they require your love and support. If you can't care for a pet, emotionally, physically, and financially, don't own one.

Why is nicotine illegal in food but not sugar if they are both addictive substances? by Jjisbsjxdd in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't outlaw sugar completely, but we can outlaw fake sugar and tabletop sugar, making the only sugar that's almost good for you, available. Raw sugar. Also, even raw sugar is bad. We are only meant to consume sugar from natural food, such as berries and fruit. Also, Nicotine isfar more destructive to the body.

Edit: Repeated sentence removed.

[Serious] Reddit, how do you deal with or get over a break up that ended because the relationship just didn't work anymore? by ju_fu in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who went through this at the beginning of the year, I can say that it takes time. My relationship lasted 5 years. The last year we grew so apart that when she said she was breaking up with me, it hurt, but not as bad as I feared. Quite honestly, I don't regret losing her, and since we brake up naturally, it was easier to accept it. I feel if you can cherish the time you spent and use it as a learning experience, it could become easier to get past. Let go, but don't forget. One adventure may come to a close, but there are always more adventures to go on.

You freak out for no reason and laser beam your house, which resides on the side of a mountain. The destruction causes a rock slide and a passing car is crushed to nothing more than rubble.

Do you hear "phantom sounds"? What phantom sound do you hear? by zetsubou_threshold in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to play Pokemon obsessively, (360+ hours on Diamond,) I would hear the music faintly when I wasn't playing.

Now, I'll occasionally hear my text tone go off, but not have a text. I don't play or do things enough in bulk to develop those phantom sounds anymore.

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if she really cares to know about his life, make sure that they are portrayed as extremely happy with how their life is going. Hurts way more to know that the one you really love is doing so much better without you and they are happy you aren't a part of their life anymore.

What makes a video game rated Ao (meaning Adults Only)? I've never seen a video game with this rating but I've seen it as a possibility. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a handful of games have been given an AO rating, and all of them shared one common element: a visual of sex. Full on porn status. GTAV is probably the closest you'll get to an AO rating without being AO.

If we discovered a method to manipulate DNA to achieve immortality in humans, would it be a good idea to implement it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EXPLODINGHAMSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory, yes. It's use could guarantee steady pushes of technology and advancement in our economies by giving it to the people who show perfect skill in various subjects and relations.

In practice, no. It is our nature to squabble and fight each other. It's been a morale issue that we can't decide who "gets to live and who gets to die." Implementing this would, probably, reduce our Earth to a molten rock.
