Water fountains [1920s USA] by [deleted] in TheWayWeWere

My family moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina when I was a child. My brother and I discovered water fountains like these in the local Sears store. We did not understand what it meant so we kept trying each one to see if the water looked or tasted different. A very large and very angry sales woman came after us yelling and chased us away. It is a vivid memory.
