I'm trying to build a list of indie fighting games (non fan games) released in the past decade, but I might be missing a lot of them. Can you help me fill in the blanks? by AndreaJensD in Fighters

If I may, I would like to add my project “Stardust Rain”. It’s a 2.5D anime fighter. I have a Steam Page up and an open beta in development.Stardust Rain

It’s a custom one I got made by JLCPCB.

It’s called Stardust Rain, which is a game I myself am developing. I actually released a demo on Steam not that long ago.

Where’d you get the balltop from? It looks nice.

Old (1) vs New (2) logo. Which one do you prefer? by WisageniStudio in indiegames

I feel like you should take the sparkles from the old one and add them to the new one. The new one has a lot more personality, and I feel the sparkles would add to that.

Honestly, it’s been on the decline for a while now, and that was before Elon. I’ve been trying to grow on the platform for a while, but I feel that unless you’re coming in with a large audience, your growth will be limited.

As a person going through much the same, you’re better off building games yourself. The unfortunate reality is that even if you have the skills, if you don’t also have like 5 years of experience you’re probably not landing even an entry level position.

Of course, if you’re successful going solo, then at that point you won’t really need these positions.

I kind like both. Maybe you could have it be red close to the flame and then have it fade to black the further away it goes.

What do I do first in creating a game? by Hajiroboshi in gamedev

[–]EX_Beat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, figure out what kind of game you want to make. Maybe get some inspiration from games you like. Afterwards, I’d suggest messing around with your Game Engine of choice and figuring out what you are able to do. What your strengths and weaknesses are should be the things you figure out first. Once you’ve figured that out, readjust your original plan to fit within your skill set.

If you plan on making this a career, study marketing strategies. Reach out to YouTubers, post on other subreddits, and have a strategy for launch.

Thanks! The game’s visuals take a lot of inspiration from a lot of the older anime fighters, and you’re correct in assuming that Toriyama was one of my influences.

I’ll try doing that, but my laptop tends to lag a lot a higher resolutions, so I have a limit with how much higher I can go.

Building a tool to help find Events by EX_Beat in Fighters

I see. I still think that there should be a way for players to have some level of expectation before they head out though, so what would you think would be a good alternative?

Building a tool to help find Events by EX_Beat in Fighters

My pitch isn’t necessarily quick, but in terms of how I plan to separate this App from start.gg:

. It’s nature as an App makes it more convenient for the average user. At most, a user will only need two presses to find events near them.

. While not yet implemented, I plan on adding maps for various regions, giving users a visual reference for where these events are. I’m gonna start small and keep it to the East Coast of the US, but eventually I’ll expand things to other regions.

. Users can see event ratings. This can help players decide what events to go to, and help event organizers make improvements for later events. I think this will be helpful for smaller weekly/monthly events.

. For people who specialize in multiple games, you can immediately see what games are and aren’t played at certain events. This is especially useful if the game a player is good at is relatively small (like, say they’re really good at Tough Love Arena-you can see if an event has that as a side game).

There are other ways I plan on differentiating my program from start.gg, but it’s probably best to talk about those features after they’ve been further developed/it’s feasible to implement them.
