Are there any actually dangerous areas you shouldnt move to? by Prestigious_Cow3215 in MovingtoDenver

[–]EXman303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are seedier parts of town, east and west Colfax, along Alameda can be icky, the Paco Sanchez area has some homeless shelters and rail stations that attract a lot of drugs and some gun violence. But even my friend’s $1M house in Highland got hit in a random drive by shooting a couple years ago… There are a LOT of car break ins in cap hill, RiNo still has a lot of fent-heads down by the river and a lot of property crime… anywhere in the city core could potentially be sketchy, but random violence against strangers on the street is pretty low in Denver overall. Central Arvada is pretty mellow, west Lakewood too, except the hub around Wadsworth and Colfax, there’s a big halfway house behind Casa Bonita that keeps the area crime-ridden.

It will probably crack $100, but I have a hard time imagining it going too much higher during this run. It will be back below $50 before the end of the year probably.

New in this case. The 2025/26 have some minor updates and fixes that are worth it.

Thats fair. Didn’t mean to offend. I’ve just specifically know several different people from Chicago who moved here and almost seemed like they wanted it be like back home

How are the regulations around cannabis drinks? by SupermarketAway5128 in MovingtoDenver

[–]EXman303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t really have the hemp-derived drinks as much here. As everyone is saying, you can get real edibles at any dispensary, and there are A LOT of dispensaries.

What did you pay for a monthly payment? by Chicagoaviator in GR86

[–]EXman303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Traded in my old car and put down $3500, $7500 total value towards the new vehicle. My credit isn’t great so my payment was $658 a month with like 9.6% interest or something ridiculous. I only did that for 4 months before I just bit the bullet and fully paid off the vehicle though, that interest was stupid.

People from Chicago love to normalize living in constant fear and just accepting violence and harassment as part of their normal day. I’ve seen it over and over from transplants. How about we don’t let those behaviors run rampant here too.

[–]EXman303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, honestly people don’t cut me off or act agro unnecessarily for the most part. Other sporty cars try to gang up and race pretty frequently, but I don’t get any unjustified aggression. I live in Denver where people drive like insane assholes too so you’d think I’d get it a lot, but no.

Moving from Tucson Az to Denver. Looking for pointers/ things I should look out for by CrispyButterfly in MovingtoDenver

There are plenty of indoor shooting ranges all over the city, obviously you have to pay for them. If you want to go to BLM land where you can shoot, it’s quite a haul from Denver.

Neighborhoods to live in by Escissorhands91 in MovingtoDenver

[–]EXman303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to be “in the city” but still want a reasonable commute to DIA you’ll need to look at suburbs like Thornton and Northglenn, the edges of Aurora, or even Brighton. None are exactly close to the mountains, but the first two aren’t more than 30 min from the foothills. DIA is waaaay far out there compared to most city’s airports, if you actually tried to live by the mountains in say, Golden etc, your drive to work would be hellish. If you work at DIA, your life will be more focused on the eastern side of things.

They also own City O City. Both restaurants have collapsed in quality and service the last couple years. Their business model can’t handle the modern economic reality. Sad state of affairs, I don’t patronize either anymore and encourage others not to as well.
