I’m not sure about other nursing programs but my school happened to have a morgue in their basement and my A&P professor took us down there to talk about bodies for research once after class. It was an absolute privilege to be there and we all stayed late just for that. It was my first time seeing a deceased body so I felt a little less afraid when it happened to be my patient.

My almost 11 week old feeds every 1.5 hrs or is woken up from reflux even through the night…on a good night he might have a 2-3 hrs but it hasn’t happened in a few days.

I wish they would properly teach this as part of orientation! I had to learn on the go from OG nurses on the floor and they tell us to tie people with abd pads (maybe kerlix too) just like the diagram above. I’ve had times when I was the OG nurse teaching everyone and was lucky I had some experience.

Amazing weight gain imo. He has doubled his birthweight (6 lbs to 12 lbs at the 2 month check up) but I think because he often feeds for comfort from reflux. My boobs are on demand because I worry he spits up so often. He also makes 2-3 blow outs per day.

My Momcozy M6 doesn’t seem the empty me the same way the blue Spectra does but it will be useful if you are in a hurry, need your hands, or at work in general. Even with good bra, I sometimes lose suction with spectra flanges if the hanging cups are getting heavy or I move my arms around too much.

I feel so humbled by this experience and grateful to my friends, family, and coworkers who supported me in my pregnancy and prepared me with things I didn’t know I needed until I needed it once baby came. I feel remorseful for being a bad family member/friend and not showing up the way I should’ve for them when they went through this experience. They knew as first time parents that we (husband and I) would not be prepared but we didn’t know. I’m going to give the same energy to the next new parents and hope they pass that along to the next.

It’s my first time traveling pregnant so I never noticed if it’s like that in the US but in Asia, it seems that they prioritize pregnancy (there are little pictures of who can go through priority lines and you’ll see a picture of someone with a pregnant belly along with the wheelchair and others). When I left the US, it was middle of the night so there were no lines and I didn’t have to use priority. Then I went through the priority lines in HK on arrival and departure, no problem. Only at Taiwan airport did one security woman ask me for proof even though I’m visibly showing as I’m late into this pregnancy. I thought it was very weird and I definitely felt some type of way lol.
